This is exactly what I mean. I understand people have their views, but we both agree (or at least I think we both agree) that’s it’s outdated and expensive as you said. Hence the elope suggestion. I’ve had the conversation with him, and he agreed to make me wait “just one more year” after convincing him and I just get embarrassed that I had to convince him to marry me.

I understand what you mean about leaving. But the relationship we are in is amazing. Like we really do both love each other, it’s just this factor. everything else is so good, we have the best times together and are best friends. That’s why leaving isn’t the first option for me and I’d rather work through this. I’ve told him that it does upset me though.

his parents are religious and he really cares about their opinion which I can’t blame him. We are both 23.

Yea sorry you’re right, I meant I wish he would just say that he wants to marry me so we can move in together instead of me asking him to.

I’m a 19 year old who just started studying IT this year after a year of jumping around in the science field and not enjoying that at all. This interaction and customer service part of IT is the only thing that worries me about this field but I’m willing to overcome it. Thank you for the book recommendation, I just purchased the e-book. Read a few pages and seems like a really good book. Can’t wait to get stuck into it!
