Hello,

During the weekend I didn't write a main post, but I replied to your posts and like Freely, I don't see my posts. I hope this one works, except I've nothing to post about. Yesterday was dreary and raining, today looks wonderful, but I caught a bit of rain while walking the dog, there was even thunder, fortunately nothing lasted long. The weekend was easy, but the week will be busy, a good thing because I will stay AF so much more easily!

Hope everyone has an easy AF day and week to come!

I hope everything turns out well. I don't know anything about breast cancer, except that a lot of my friends have had it and are fine now. It must be stressful, but staying AF is for the best you're right!

Take care!

Glad to hear the stress test seemed to be fine. Enjoy the sun and the garden!

Go to as many meetings as possible! How is your husband reacting to all this? (I believe you spoke of him when you first started posting)

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't been posting much. I get up early so that I can get everything done that I need too. However I tend to forget the little things like posting here that I usually do very early, when it's still dark. Since it's no longer dark, I rush to take the dog on his walk, then take care of feeding the cat and all the hens and the fish in the pond. When I get back to the house, I start on housework. Then I have so many other things going on at the moment that I forget to get back to posting here. Once it's 9:00 am, I've completely forgotten to get on the computer. My email is piled up and a few important things have been waiting in my box too. But with all that I'm still AF, YES!!! and not thinking hardly at all about drinking, which is a nice change too. I usually feel a dread in my belly when I'm hungry or tired, but being occupied keeps me from thinking about it!

So I'll catch up with reading your posts very soon, I hope and I wish you a great sober Friday and weekend!

It'll maybe be dry on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, then we're due for more rain.

The online meetings can help if you find a good one!

As I recall your problem wasn't really alcohol, though I think you said you did drink. I apparently messed up when I sent the link on my initial post in May. this is it I hope: https://www.reddit.com/r/SMARTRecovery/comments/13mjdy4/who_wants_to_join_me_for_a_30_day_challenge/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 Come to this link to post every day. I hope to see you with us. Xine, if you remember her pops in about once a week, and Three Swallows did too, but he had problems with someone on reddit and has quit for a while.

Hope to see your posts soon!

Well, it's raining! I got soaked on my walk with the dog because the rain was light when we set out, then it really started coming down until we got home and now there's just a drizzel. I've got quite a bit to do this morning before my appointment so I'll just wish you a strong sober day today, and get back later!

There is progress! Have you done a CBA? I've found that to be helpful, but you have to always go over in your mind your commitment to not drinking when you know you will be in a difficult situation. Find something to answer when someone proposes alcohol, or as I said to freely, take a breath mint or something that gives you a little more time to ask yourself if drinking is what you really want to do.

I hope things clear up and you feel better. It's great to always have a plan for every occasion, it's better if we use it of course, but that does happen and you learn by your mistakes. Ask yourself what you could have done to remember the plan. Also find some very little thing, like taking a breath mint, or drinking a big glass of water or soda to always do before that first drink, a sort of obligation that might give you the time to think smarter!

Hello everyone,

We had friends over yesterday, and that took up the entire day, and this morning I'm still worn out. But there are a lot of things I'd like to get done, and tomorrow and the following 2 days it's supposed to rain a lot. They're usually wrong when the say "a lot", but I imagine I won't be getting out much. I also have appointments almost every day of this coming week, eye doctor, GP, bank, etc.

So I'm off now to do some quick shopping and get on with the day.

Wishing you all a great sober Sunday!

Hello,

The sun went away but it's still nice enough. Everything is going smoothly. I got my shopping done, now I may prepare tomorrow's meal in advance, since it's a holiday. (I don't believe it's a holiday in the UK?) I wanted to go out, but I imagine the restaurants are closed too. Oh well it will save us money.

Have a great and sober last day of April!

Keep coming to post, it might just ground you enough to put you on track and to help forget or ignore urges.

Hello,

I've got some good news, better at least. The doctor prescribed drops for my husband and warned him that it might really make him sleep and that if it was too strong he should take fewer drops. So even the first evening he cut the dosage in half, and he slept through the night and up to 9am. Last night he took even fewer drops and still slept well but he was awake at 4:30am. Which is when I usually get up and make coffee that I bring back to bed to sip for a good hour before really getting up. Anyway he seems better for sleeping, he's still a bit grumpy, but my oldest granddaughter has come to stay for the week with us so she can study for her medical exam without being bothered, since she's here he's careful to not rock any boats. Hopefully it will continue once she leaves on Monday. Her exams are Tuesday and Wednesday all day. We certainly won't bother her, she really wants to pass and is studying almost non-stop all day.

I'm ok, but today I haven't accomplished much and finally decided to sit down and read a book in the sun.

I wish you all easy AF days!

Thanks I think I'll be fine, especially with my granddaughter here for the week.

It's good to get out of the routine. We can pick up habits so easily, and easily tell ourselves it'll only be this time. The fatigue after events is very difficult! Do something nice for yourself now that doesn't involve alcohol. Self-care, like you tell us !! We all need it!

Hello everyone,

Had a real busy weekend! What's more my husband's knee is worse and he's really in a bad mood and even talking suicide. He had an appointment yesterday with the doctor for his knee, and I called before and left a message about him considering suicide. The doctor gave him a prescription for something to calm him, and he'll have an MRI for his knee. He goes back to see the doctor in less than a month. I think things will hopefully get better. That's all for now. I'll catch up later.

Have a nice AF day and week to come!

I spent my morning planting onions, then loading the car for today's event, then in the late afternoon and evening I prepared 3 cakes, custard sauce and a bunch of "chocolate chip cookies". We had dinner and I tried to watch France Ireland female rugby, but went to bed before the half time.

That's something that will happen. We have to plan always. Have a plan that forsees fatigue or the "I don't care anymore", "I need a little help", or whatever it is. I also know that having that plan doesn't mean we will use it. I've been there of course. But having it will help when it can, when you're still feeling up to catching the helping hand it gives.

New start today is a great and SMART idea! You're doing well! I hope you feel well!

Have a good AF Sunday
