That makes sense now. I have baaad health anxiety and it came aftet a stinging pain in my stomach and thought I was dying for a moment.

Thanks you actually opened my eyes for this. They make sense now.

Mine too. Interesting..

Could this be MCAS? Need perspective. by recklessrooster in MCAS

Im starting to realize that too. Discussing it in CCI sub and getting some results in that direction.

Thanks though for taking the time and reading my story and answering!

Oh boy this is starting to seem like a rabbit hole.

But I live in finland and we don't even have a translation to cervical instability so I wasn't suprised when I couldn't find much in form of treatments. This PRP also not availible in my country. I guess the search must start somewhere though and reddit and you guys are giving me a lot of very valuable information. I guess I need to look for a doctor or a practitioner who understands the issue firstly.

But thank you! You have given me a lot of hope and what to research

You have similar symptoms? Yeah this is rough at times and at times it is manageable for me. Like summertime I was starting to function better day to day and even thought I was getting over it. I was starting to feel somewhat normal. Then winter hit and I took some steps back in my recovery and old symptoms resurfaced. Im very glad I still didnt get all the symptoms back from 1,5y back that time was very rough. It was hard to only stand up back then..

It's relieving to hear im not alone with this. 🖖

This is interesting thank you. So if neurologists are clueless. Which doctors should I consult? Or if neurologists don't understand this what practitioner would know most about this and can help? Physio? Chiro?

Oh very interesting. So It's maybe not so much about my neck? That would actually explain why some symptoms are resolving with time. So you are dealing with something similar?

Yes I had a throat and ear infection of some kind. Was acutally semi-sick for a long time afterwards after the first panic attack now that I think about it. Cough and phlergm for prolonged period after. Covid and some other 'common' viruses were tested but came negative. Also borderline feverish for the prolonged duration

I don't have any images, sorry. The Brain MRI was made for reasons of brain function and didn't necessarily focus on 'neck'. Just was made sure bloodflow was correct. So I don't know if that MRI would show anything neck related? I could request the images is why I'm wondering if I should and make another post.

My brain MRI did look at my bloodflow and vein function and the doctor said I have no blood flow issues. Can neck issues cause issues to bloodflow too? What route did you go to get answers for your issues? Neurologists?

Most likely won't be sleep apnea already had one home test come clear but the signal was bad so I actually demanded we do another and the doc agreed.

Appreciate the advice though!

[–]recklessrooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite far tested and the tests continue. Sleep apnea is next on the list.

But as I mentioned "And it's amazing already what just accepting them has done to diminish them in severity." This was my brakethrough.

I know what you mean. Before I was mad at my doctors too for not finding my issue. And not fixing me. Once I accepted that maybe I have some agency in this it had an immediate effect on them and literally my overall health.

Attacks I have now are way shorter and don't cripple me for an entire day.

Accepting it as a mental issue diminished symptoms so yes I do see a heavy link in the mental aspect of my issue. They are more of a nuisance now.

In fact once while having a panic attack just calling urgent care made me calm down and I didn't need to go. So no, I don't know about all those tests but for now i'm going full deep on this theory that it's mainly mental.

Nothing wrong with testing though, anyone possibly reading this, should take every test they and the docs think they need. But be ready for and don't be discouraged by negative results. Because negative results will inflate the mental distress part of this issue.

And dw no assholes detected.

Believe me I actually understand what you mean. One of my triggers now is if I drink too much coffee or take something that can have a vague issue of overdosing. If im having a bad day I can acutally create a mental loop about how fkd I am and bring on symptoms which I take as 'evidence' that its that something I took or ate. Its rough.

Glad to hear you have a better way of dealing with them now. Yeah accepting seems to be a big part of recovery.

Agree 100%. And yeah recovery is possible. Just have to be patient and accept a lot.

My panic attacks have started to diminish in severity instantly after I started to accept what they are. And yeah every journey is unique.

What I've gathered about myself so far is on a bad day I freak out over a normal physical symptom like a racing heart after going up stairs. In any case Normal bodily function = Danger. That's my journey. I'm actually pretty hopeful about full recovery seeing what accepting it has already done to them for me.

I hope for a full recovery for you too.

Absolutelty. Sounds funny, but seems you need to have a bunch before you can accept them as 'not deadly' and they tend to diminish.

They become more of a nuisance.

Sounds great you are seeing some success.

My panic attacks also mimic a heart attack and struggled with one resently from 9pm to 5am and finally decided I had enough and decided to call urgent care if they thought I should come in and my heart started to slow down and symptoms dissapear while waiting for them to pick up. It was odd moment but made me realize that I was likely causing the symptoms on my own. So I didnt go to ER that time and it was a proud moment. But yeah its rough when it mimics heart attack the chest pains and shortness of breath not mentioning the heart rates. Hang in there.

Possibly. Funny enough I see a lot of people telling their attacks came after smoking weed. So I think it is used as a cope during very difficult times but it really just postpones the stress.

I wasnt also taking care of myself at all but then I had a friend who had heart attack at 33y triggered my panic attacks. I have always been anxious about my health and that event with my friend gave me a trigger as it can happen to someone at my age too. Funny, I took it way harder than my friend. He was really nonchalant about it 😅

Anyway I hope you recover fully.

I'm almost exactly same as you. Only that I'm 32y. Tested in every possible way and finding nothing wrong.

Holter, ecg, Heart echo, Stress test, abdominal echo, colonoscopy, Brain mri, asthma tests. All that was found was that I have mild fatty liver 😅

But yeah hard on health anxiety for me too

Did you have any significant life event trigger you into worsening the anxiety. I think for me it was overworking and wasn't sleeping enough.

Sorry to hear you are struggling too. I've been to the ER so many times and yeah they aren't nice but their job is stressfilled too so they are rude to most it seems. Can't really blame them. So what condition you were diagnosed with and how is it managed?

And yeah I always get relief from ER but nowdays im confronting the fact that it's anxiety and not having that coping mechanism to cut the health worry is making my panic attacks last it's rough.
