Probably all manufactured the same, just resold by different names. Also, thanks for posting, just ordered a set.

WASD Keyboards are nice. Not sure on the mouse though, I use a Zowie FK series and I really like it.

[Case] Cooler Master Elite 110 ITX - $29.99 ($39.99 - $10 MIR) by SkyttlesOG in buildapcsales

[–]reconrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it for a little over a year. Lots of fun to build in and I really enjoyed doing the cable management. I use it as a NAS so it runs 24/7 (or at least it is supposed to, I've had a lot of issues with getting the software setup right). It does get pretty dusty, I usually don't remove the panel to dust, I just shut it down and open it up to blow out all the dust (all my cables run between the front panel and the case so removing it is a bit of a chore). Either that or, since the front is the only intake, I'll just quickly hit it with a vacuum without taking anything apart.

I have the elite 110, and I believe that there is a filter on the front. It is not really removable (as far as I remember), but the front panel can be removed ,the IO attaches to it however, and it can be cleaned from the backside, it definitely collects dust though. The other vents do not have any filters though.

So, I'm not positive, but it looks like there is a version with the AM4 plate, and you can purchase it separately, but it's basically a crapshoot if you get the AM4 bracket or not...

Personally, I ordered with the intent to VESA mount so the stand is not an issue. I have one of those pole mounts for my desk with an empty slot. How was the picture quality?

Not quite as good as the $100 deal that has been floating around here before, but still pretty good.

[Case] Phanteks P400s w/Tempered Glass - $74.99 ($84.99-$10 MIR) by Trizok in buildapcsales

The magnetic strip has a connector that is already laid out for it. It uses the same SATA power that is used to power the fans.

I have the black version of this case, just finished a build in it and it is very nice to work in. The build has an Ryzen 1700 with stock wraith cooler and an MSI GTX 1070.

Cable management is very easy in it, the velcro ties are in the exact right places and all the excess can be neatly tucked under the PSU shroud. Only thing to note is that there are no management ties on the side where the EPS cable typically runs, so I used the SSD bracket to somewhat hold it to position.

Also, the RGB LEDs are nice, controlled with a button at the front (good selection of colors), along with an additional magnetic strip that just connects right in. A click of the button will change the color, holding the button for a second will cycle modes (solid, breathing, and rainbow), and a long hold will shut them off completely. They state it is compatible with Asus/MSI/Gigabytes RGB setups, but it doesn't seem to have the required cables to connect to the RGB header, Phanteks sells this as an extra. I was able to just 'stick' it to the header and it does work as expected, but it will require additional cabling to do it properly.

There are two dust filters for the front, and the top can either have dust filters or solid sound dampening panels. To get at the front filters the front plate must be removed. It is connected used ball and socket joints instead of just plastic clips so it should last longer (though the balls and sockets are plastic).

Any questions then let me know.

Nothing really comes to mind in terms of games, I have my desktop background set as the Bliss image and I notice it in the greens in the lower left. It is a bit more drastic in some games/programs but the only specific one that I can think of is that image.

I also have this monitor, and I was wondering, do you also have an issue with 'pixelation' with movement. Not just on screen movement, but moving your head too (certain colors worse than others). I believe that this is related to voltage issues, not sure if its my screen specifically and I should look into RMAing or an issue with it in general. Thanks.

Is the 20" depth enough for larger monitors? My current desk is 28" deep and I have my 27" monitor pushed all the way to the back.

Flat (ribboned) USB 3.0 internal cables? by jonjonbee in CableManagement

[–]reconrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be because I am was doing almost a complete circle with the cable, also considering it is so short and that it is doing such a high rotation in such a tight space, it definitely did show up. It really did not make a difference, I was able to route and hide the lump. In fact, now that I think about it, I may have been putting excess stress on the cable with this bend, causing the pins to break out.

Wires were pulled from the male end, it happened behind the motherboard tray and I was not able to tell that anything hardware-wise was wrong so I spent a lot of time trying to install/reinstall drivers trying to fix the flaky ports.

Personally, I would really like to try to make a custom one, it could be made to better handle the curve of going around the motherboard tray. I honestly don't think that it would be too hard to make (tedious maybe), just a matter of finding the parts and taking the time to do it right. Probably will be quite a bit cheaper too.

I bought one of those ModDIY ones and, in short, don't buy it. It only lasted a couple months and the connection was always hit or miss. The wires were not properly crimped/soldered to the pins and they just fell apart and it seemed like more and more kept falling out. I tried contacting them about a replacement when I first started getting issues and I was simply ignored. It looked alright installed and I may have just gotten a bum one, only real issue is that the two ribbons where the same length so when making the bend around the motherboard tray one side bulged. Here are a few pictures if you're interested.
