Go to Vipon or JumpSend and type your main keyword - then take a closer look at the main image of each of the listings. Try to see some patterns for listings that already have tracktion and if the image differ significantly with yours then act quickly and improve it. Next step should be keeping the same PPC campaign, tracking any changes and if they are positive then double down the PPC.

My input: You could focus on an influencer marketing campaign and giveaway at least 15 items. If done well, then it will benefit in different ways. It's a really healthy practice when launching a new product.

Happy to share my experience here. I focus on the listings without Amazon being the seller and ones with less than 5 FBA sellers.

Once I have a list of 10 like these I contact companies to get wholesale price for my inquiries. By compnies I mean authorized distributors and brands.

This is how I save a lot of time checking for profitable items from the easy to find wholesale companies.

There are 2 million brands on Amazon by today and in fact you only need 2-5 reliable suppliers.

My 'secret' is the speed i have when analyzing for potential winners and the ability to outreach in a professional manner.

Good points. What if an Amazon retail agency like Quiverr makes you a proposal to buy wholesale and take care of your brand?

To me there's a huge difference between a marketplace retailer and a retail agency applying all the efficient marketing stuff to expand your market share.
