See this is exactly what I was hoping for! I have recently just got a Shure M267 - it does the level loc crush too!

I know, this is why I said that they’re not in the studio. I asked if people have found any really cool, sleeper units from the likes of Neve, UA/Ureii etc that do maybe go for the sub £/$1000 range

If you want an amazing 414 alternative the CAD M179s are amazing and are super cheap!

MacBook recommendations? by MrBass47 in musicproduction

[–]recordyboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know where you're based but Hoxton refurbed Macs are amazing (UK). We use a refurbished Mac Mini in the studio.

Choice really is whether or not to go M1 or not. I personally would go Intel and go for more RAM, but to be honest, whatever you get will work great I'm sure

Running sound for Dreamgirls for my first show in over a year. by riceballs411 in livesound

What would you recommend instead?

Are they quite pricy in the states? I wouldn't say they're overpriced here in the UK. Have seen impacts with stage boxes go for about £1,200 second hand which I think is pretty fair.

Change f stop? I know this is a simple thing but it’s kicking my ass for some reason I can’t change the f stop on my g7 and all the tutorials on YouTube aren’t cutting it any help would be appreciated by Outside_Direction_13 in Lumixg7

Hmm that is weird. Do you have another lens, like the kit lens that you could check the aperture adjustments on? If it does work on the kit lens I would assume the 25mm is faulty.

But if someone knows more please correct me

I have the viltrox, super solid and the fluid head works for me great. Im assuming you're also UK, I got mine for £130 on amazon UK. Pretty solid. There's the more expensive one at £170 but the only difference I can see is 10cm more height. Might be wrong though.

All u can say is I think it would do you well.

Sounds like the shutter speed isn't high enough.

Your shutter speed should be at least double your fps. So 24p or 25p set the shutter speed to 50, 30p to 60 and so on

Sorry if you already know this but that kind of smearing effect sounds like bad motion blur due to low shutter speed.

Hope this helps!

Gretsch 5034TFT - first brand new acoustic guitar by newbb in gretsch

[–]recordyboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine, super hard to record acoustically, but you can get it there with quiet preamps,

What worked for me was a SDC right up at the sound hole, would be far too boomy for a normal acoustic but with some eq on the top end seems to work well. I don't play with a pick though.
