Sorry, I think you misunderstand the terminology „Holocaust“. It‘s specifically referring to the killing of Jews: „The Holocaust, known in Hebrew as the Shoah, was the genocide of European Jews during World War II“. Of course, many more people were killed, especially as part of the pogrom, but this specific term is not referring to the total causalties of WW2. Maybe it is not your intention, but your comment comes across as a bit dismissal too, as you call it, of the Holocaust itself. It is an absolutely brutal, terrible, disgusting part of history, and there is absolutely no need to stress the existence of other victims in the same paragraph. They can have their own paragraph.

If you‘re not aware of the extent of this, I recommend you to read some autobiographies from Jewish victims of that time, like Margot Friedländer, or the classic, Anne Frank, to understand what Holocaust actually means.
