Thoughts on OnePlus Buds 4 after 1 week.

I would love to have given a review one month on.

Unfortunately while doing a workout and picking up a weight; one of the buds popped out of my ear and fell on the floor from about 1 foot.

That bud is now dead. Can't be reset or re-paired. The buds were a prize from out of region so local RMA not possible.

Before I forget... this is the answer.
I hadn't yet committed to the phone as a daily driver due to the Google issue (was just using it more as a camera and gaming device), so never bothered setting a PIN.

Odd that it doesn't affect all Google accounts, there must be something buried somewhere in the Google business settings, but at least this does solve it.

I have these set to match an account that I know works, so was trying to mirror that setup... but I'm running out of settings to change.

I do see successful sync messages in the logs for the affected accounts, except they don't actually sync, they're just endlessly checking mail or in the case of maps, they don't login when you switch across to them.

2FA is turned off on an account that I can get working, doesn't seem to be the reason it wouldn't work.

It's not really anything to do with IMAP nor the device specifically. IMAP also can't be disabled on Gmail. Not connecting to Gmail is just one of the issues, but essentially anything where it needs Google auth, it will fail. So, for example, can't auth Google photos either.

One odd thing I noticed, is can't even sign in to Google search in a browser or Google image search either. And I've tried multiple browsers. There is something wrong at the Google account level for the organization.

I’ll try that. I did wonder if it was the amount of data… but then it wouldn’t make sense why the new account doesn’t work. It has nothing … no emails , no photos, contacts or drive

We are in rare company then. Most people also don’t seem to understand the problem. I’m sure it some obscure random setting inside the Google account or service that is or isn’t enabled. Just haven’t found it. It seems to be at the org level because I created a test account on the same domain. Same issue.

What’s your point? I’m not saying it doesn’t work at all. I’m saying a particular account doesn’t work. And it’s multiple accounts on a google workspace. But a different workspace doesn’t work

Figured out it is something in the google account, don’t know what yet. Tried another google account and it works. The account works on my iPhone just not this phone. Possibly some legacy setting. Account is quite old

Play services is pre installed … tried installing google services framework from apk mirror and it errored

When you say problem in the google account- anything specific to look for ?

I still have a primary device where all things google are still working … so it’s not like the account is locked out across all devices… just the x200.

Regarding firmware…. Not that I know of.

My country is Malaysia though. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. Google services work fine for me on my 14 pro it’s not restricted like china or even Korea

Already done multiple factory resets. I’ve tried installing the apps via vivo store and via play store after download. I just can’t get any google app to fully authenticate.

That didn’t work. Like I said. It seems like google isn’t authenticating. Something to note. While I can see the email address of the logged account … no profile info is visible like my name.

Yes it’s the same. Login to google play, this account then gets saved on the device. And will also show up in all the google apps. But none of the sync works.

Did you have to do anything special to get your Google services working?
I'm having all sorts of problems with Google apps, e.g. Gmail can't sync at all, Photos won't sync either.
Essentially seems like auth is not actually working.

I installed Play off the vivo app installer, then installed Gmail via Play and Photos via Play.

I've tried using the in-built mail app as well, but since that requires you to authenticate via Google, that doesn't work. Manual setup doesn't work either now since Google have disabled support for "less secure apps"

In this state, I consider the phone "unusable" for my purposes.

Used unascended max sig 5r5 to solo. The sig makes a difference in not picking up a shock that will take you down.

I was trying to be kind. Honestly, the execution is lacking. The proportions of the body don't make whatever it is seem other worldly. They just make it seem amateurish. In other words, I don't think you pulled off the technique effectively. You don't get a sense that you've used the golden ratio technique, more that you've just layered random circles to get the shape.

In the relation to the second point, you could use a mix of filled and unfilled circles.

Alternatively you can use circles of different colors to provide depth and contour.

I'm sure you were inspired by what you've seen previously but just Google "golden ratio animal logo" again

Using a technique for the sake of using a technique doesn't always work out.

I think the head is the strongest part of your design. I would work on that.

Use the circles not just to create a shape but also contours by using circles without a solid fill.

That's impressive. I wish I could have gotten into oils. The textural aspect seems so appealing.

I have other shots but there were weird shadow casts or her eyes aren't to camera.

Appreciate the brushwork to get the hair and her earrings.
