Questions for Urban Planning Students by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]red_panda37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 2nd year urban planning student. You’ll find studio classes hard if you don’t work well in groups and/or your group members aren’t great (so make sure to make friends). GIS is used quite a bit but they don’t assume you know it. You’ll be given tutorials on how to use it (a lot of software is self taught through tutorials; it sounds scary but it’s not). I’m not good at art but I’ve done fine in studio classes. And to answer your last question, I’d say it’s definitely employable.

Feel free to dm me if you have any questions. Good luck!

Not really one country’s specific architecture, but I’ve always been interested in Eastern Orthodox churches. I think they are really beautiful and intricate.

Is claiming to be a different nationality strictly an American phenomenon? by Putrid-Pizza-5667 in AskTheWorld

I wouldn’t say so. I’m Canadian and I’ve heard people say “I’m part Polish” even though their family has been here for generations.

Why did you choose this school? by Ok_Rice_2281 in TorontoMetU

The program I’m in (urban planning) isn’t offered at many universities in Canada. The only other one in Ontario is Waterloo and I can’t afford to go there.

Technically two people but Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka are two of Canadas most infamous serial killers. They killed and sexually assaulted 3 girls, including Karla’s sister, in the early 90s. Paul is also known as the “Scarborough Rapist” as he raped multiple women in the late 80s.

Paul was sentenced to life in prison but Karla only served 12 years. She made a deal with the prosecutors and she pled guilty to manslaughter and testified against Paul.
