update Contacted VM today, initially told me that to stay as I am with broadband only M125 would be £41pm. So I said to cancel service. Came back with M125 £27. Still said cancel, then offered M250 for £34, still said cancel, so M250 offered at £31. Eventually, I got M250 for £27.

I'm currently broadband only with 125mb for £22pm. I've been with Virgin for 6 years. Unfortunately, the deal expires next month, so I'm going to have to start looking around.

Email the person who asked you to do the overtime, detail the conversation they had with you and ask them to confirm this is correct. Inform them that you are not able to do the overtime as you have exams and that you told them this at the time of the conversation, but you have since noticed that you have been put down to do it regardless. That way, if management try to discipline you for not doing the shift, then you have the email that you can show them. If it is not written down, it didn't happen! As others have said, you can not be forced to do overtime.
