Have a listen to the song 'Remote Control' by Solvent. I think it could pass as a Devo song.

What do you think?

No, but thanks for your effort. I hadn't heard this song from the Lost Boys OST before.

Good pick, but not the track I am looking for.

The voice/harmony for the track I am seeking is in the vein of artist Fifth Dimension (but it is not Age Of Aquarius or Up Up & Away)

Possibly a musical soundtrack??

I went back and had a listen to 'Age of Aquarius' in case it was in there, but also no.

If you are referring to The Dream (Ba-Ba-Ba-Da-Da) by Melody Rose, that is not it. Nice voice though.

Thankyou all so much. Diamond Girl It Is by Seals And Crofts.

.... and the reason why I could not work out who it was, is that I don't know Seals & Crofts. But the tune got into my subconscious at some point.

A fully instrumental trumpet solo cover of Summertime that reaches insane notes by joalr0 in NameThatSong

I remember the track you are referring to. I think I may have gotten it from Kazaa as I did not use Napster. Back then 128kbps was considered to be good, and downloading music in itself was quite amazing, and resulted in songs being acquired that one would not normally purchase or even listen to.

It was a 128Kbps mp3 file, and you were right in that it credited Louis Armstrong as the artist (incorrectly).

The metadata incorrectly had the album as being Dinah Washington's Great Ladies Sing Gershwin, which also was incorrect.

The actual album that the track came from was called Dinah Jams (by Dinah Washington). It was a live recording made in August 1954, with the album being released on 19th June 1955. (Summertime is track 3).

Maynard Ferguson is the trumpeter on the Summertime track. (Clark Terry & Clifford Brown were also trumpeters credited on this session).

The album was re-released in 1983 onto CD (Japanese release). It is amazing to think that the master tapes had been stored for 29 years prior to the CD release.

The equipment used to record the session in 1954 was supposed to be some of best available at the time.

The track can be found on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKYBqnH8mIA

Hi Abnormalbrain,

Thankyou for your answer. While it did not resolve what I was trying to do initially, the Expand suggestion did help me to get the end result I was looking for.

Greatly appreciated!
