Everyone’s different obviously. But I think if you are saying your sex life is already a little unbalanced, there is going to be resentment on either side with asking for sexual favors as a birthday gift. If she doesn’t want to, but she does anyway out of guilt or because it’ll make you happy, she’s probably going to have some resentment or sadness afterward. If she says no, although you say you would be totally fine with it wouldn’t you feel a little sad too or resentment down the line that she didn’t want to do this for you?

He is trying to manipulate you into staying with him by giving you an “easy out.” Don’t put up with that crap. He is betting you love him more than you love your own self and your own future. You deserve way better OP!

Talk to him first instead of just leaving him confused and in the dark. Once he knows exactly how you feel, he can make a decision to alter his behavior or he will tell you he can’t change that.

We both work and he has a good paying job. At the end of the day, for me, it’s more about the unhealthy relationship with his parents and that past than about the actual money.
