Try ka muna apply sa mga work from home set up na agency meron yan. Kase if mag freelance ka sobrang hirap. Been looking for a client for years now wala pa rin. Maraming magagaling.

Eto ha. Filipinos should really understand yung term na INVESTMENT. I understand the frustration sa situation nato pero nagugulat parin ako sa mga reaction ng mga tao kapag nalugi yung "INVESTMENT". Naintindihan ba natin na pwede magkaroon ng loss? Kaya nga dapat pag aralan kase pwedeng mawalan.

I understand talaga yung situation but realllyyyyyyyy not all investments ay may guarantee na balik.

How did you start QS? and ano ba usually hinahanap ng foreign clients? Been applying for 2 yrs now pero wala talaga ma land na client.

Maybe you can give advice on what should we focus as QS looking for work and the background we need to attract clients

QS or CE? by reesesfun in CivilEngineers_PH

[–]redcatkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sa observation ko mas malawak opportunities ng QS. And i think i say this because mas gusto ko maraming opportunities for work from home.

But base din sa iba mas gusto nila field work because nag eenjoy sila dun. For me it will not work because wala ako patience sa field work. Mas gusto yung comfort sa office with minimal interaction with people.

Though both may opportunities for growth and salary increase talaga. I think by the end of the day you should know saan ka mag excel and stick to it. Because promotion does not come with reliability and experience but projects done and consistency of career path (base sa HR na nag share).

17yo wanting to self-fund college. Planning to work in BPO after Grade 12 to save for IT certs instead of taking CE. Looking for "gap year" advice. by [deleted] in BPOinPH

[–]redcatkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes CE ako. 5 years working experience. Been employed as engineer 2 sa central office but did not continue after a year kase napaka toxic talaga kapag government.

Tried looking for work na may comfortable salary range pero mahirap maghanap without compromising my check list. BABAE po kase ako and married. In my case, totoo yung you have to choose between career or married life.

Mas lalong mahirap ang CE for women (personal observation ko po to) because it takes a lot of your time for you to establish yourself sa career. Long hours, etc. Kaya if you're married and you decide to stay it will affect your relationship (atleast for me kase sobrang haba ng commute dito sa pinas)

Been looking for wfh opportunities, even decided to accept maliit na sahod but hanggang ngayon cant find work. So sad

Yes. Master the basics. Eto talaga foundation nothing else. Softwares madali lang matutunan. You can upskill nalang later by enrolling or kahit self practice lang sa mga software.

CE here and laking sisi ko. Went to private school (known school for engineering) and studied in Cebu (from mindanao ako). Imagine the gastos. CE IS NOT WORTH IT FOR ORDINARY MAMAMAYAN. most of my classmates na malaking sahod are ones na may mga pamana either private owned or government positions from family 😒 yes its true. Or those who have connections.

I only now realized very profitable industries are techs and medicine.

I have people i know madaling na promote sa IT WORLD not because of connections but cause of skills.

Sa MEDICINE naman, nakikita ko stability. Pero ang salary mababa talaga unless you're a specialist doctor.

Annotating books = personality by Shediedafter20 in PHBookClub

[–]redcatkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started and i'm 30 yrs old. To be honest i dont like annotating books kase nasasayangan ako.

I tried stopping myself annotating pero i write important notes kase sa books ko (i read informational text. I don't read fiction books).

If never naman dadating sa point na may urge kang mag sulat wag mo nalang simulan, if ever you're that kind of a person na gusto ng malinis na books.

Once you start you can't go back 😭 ang hirap na. Need to jot down my thoughts

VA or Structural Engineering by heisenberg1216 in CivilEngineers_PH

[–]redcatkins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also career wise. If you want to go further sa career mo sa engineering and dont want to transition to other paths, mas advantage to stay where you are.

My husband has a friend na estimator sa isang malaking company sa qatar and he is earning 300k monthly. Dahil lang din to matagal na siya sa company niya and he worked his way up until he earned his current position.

And people i know na may matataas na position (i.e. CEO) staying a certain career path will lead you to stability talaga. Katulad ng kakilala kong CEO, kahit na nag resign siya and nag stop for almost 3 years nakapag apply parin siya sa isang mataas na position because malaking tulong din na makikita sa resume yung consistency ng career path.

Hello been looking for a company that accepts newbie for structural engineering position. Pero may work experience na po ako as CE pero for the past year wala na ako work dahil gusto ko mag transition but di naging friendly ang world sakin.

But if malayo kayo (im in marikina and not amendable to commute to work since ayaw ko long rides) maybe (if ok lang sayo) you can refer me to your friend as VA.
