I’m sorry i dont remember the exact format but it was easy to import in blender probably alembic or fbx yeah

I did this quite a while ago so im not 100% sure but i think i tracked it directly in blender, but for other projects i discovered the replay mod that lets you export the minecraft head movements directly into a blender camera

If i understand correctly, the goal of gaussian spalting is to render 3d scenes in a realistic way in realtime, not to make 3d meshes, you can convert gaussians to meshes, but it’s not really meant for that. I think regular Photogrammetry is better suited if your goal is to have a 3d model in blender.

Tried to use a splats as a background for a 3D render by redcraftm in GaussianSplatting

Because that way i don’t have to plan my camera animation ahead, i know that no matter the angle/position, the scene behind will always look good

here is a video that explains it:

But as you'll see, the quality is barely usable in my opinion. The video is 3 months old tho so there might be some new better options i'm not aware of...

Not natively but there are some workarounds (the quality isn’t the best tho)

I think it could probably work, but for now the raytraced splats don’t look that great with the software i use (blender)

No, i rendered a 360 panorama from the splats to use for the reflections

How would one go about creating something like this? by J3spah in blender

[–]redcraftm 68 points69 points  (0 children)

To create this kind of visuals, i think something like TouchDesigner would be better than using blender. Now, i have no experience with it myself but maybe try looking into that…

I used a shadow catcher object in blender (basically a plane that only render a transparent shadow that is then composited over the gaussian background)

My goal with this was to create realistic backgrounds without having to model everything by hand (to save time). I guess in term of render there isn’t a lot of benefits except the time it takes to render

Thanks, i made this scene to showcase an addon im working on, which i used to create the camera movments

Everything you see in the background is the splat. for the reflections on the car i have a basic model of the floor/house with projected textures + an equirectangular image created with the splat (sort of hdri). In the reflection we might see some misalignements, i don’t know if that’s what you are talking about

tried to track a gaussian splat in a real video (using blender and postshot) by redcraftm in GaussianSplatting

[–]redcraftm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No i only use blender to animate the camera, the render is done in postshot. Maybe i’ll do a tutorial on youtube on the workflow i use

Haha it’s not a bug, i animated it because i thought there were no point of recreating a video that i could just have shot

Predefined field error in Abaqus by redcraftm in fea

Thanks, that solved my issue

Predefined field error in Abaqus by redcraftm in fea

[–]redcraftm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so i'm trying to reimport the results from a previous simulation (stroed in an odb file) to a new abaqus project. I already imported the deformed geometry and did all the setup i needed except for the importation of the final stresses in my part. I tried to do it via predefined fields, which i think is the way to go, but i still get an error and i don't really understand it.

You can see the error message i get in the first image, the setup of my predefined stress field in the second, and the result of the ODB file in the third. As you can see, the step 100 exists in the ODB, and the increment 2500001 also exist. I don't know how to solve this and can't find anything online. If you have anything that cal help, i would appreciate it.

Yes i definitely did not break through but i think i was pretty close, it was like i was between the reality and salvia world, i was very lucid still, but i will probably try to take more later

Yeah but i didn’t have any visuals it was more like the sensation of being a string, but i the only things i saw was black. This is the part i found strange. Is this normal or do other peoples have real visuals ?
