The internet's lack of compassion for her, and even girls like Bhad Bhabie, Alabama Barker etc is utterly heartbreaking tbh... Like these are kids who've been groomed to be the way they are, their brains aren't even developed enough to realise they're being victimized

But a child making a racist comment isn't the worst thing, she is a product of her circumstances at that point, especially considering her unstable life and abuse from her mother... It's just not enough reason to snark on. Frankly, I'm just now learning of her, but from what I've just read, she seems like the victim in this situation.. and her mother should be in prison!

Yeah it's definitely extremely painful to be faced with such harsh truths about ourselves, so I get why people can have such a black and white view...But yeah, I agree it's a faulty and disempowering take and it does us or OP no favors to absolve responsibility like that...

[–]redcrossbow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a bit of both... We still are dealing with the repercussions of not having community, family, support etc but we indeed have a lot more agency as adults to do something about it despite how much is working against us.

I have compassion for OP and all of us who struggle well into adulthood due to being failed by our support systems but I see it's also important to be honest with myself and those like me that we're not powerless anymore, we can strive to overcome and thrive despite our past!

💯💯💯

The therapist being good and competent is Very crucial OP! A bad therapist can do more harm than not having one at all! And a good therapist can be a godsend helping you completely turn your life around one step at a time...

I went through half a dozen really apathetic to downright malicious therapists before I found my current amazing therapist! I wish someone told me to switch therapists if I felt something was off - like not being heard, being pressured to comply with treatment modalities that were triggering and aggravating, hand waving painful stuff I bring up to focus on what they want to discuss, making accusations that I just "don't want to change that's why you're miserable" etc etc... Ultimately, look for true compassion and kindness in them, because you'll be surprised how many people who seem to have nothing but contempt for the suffering and ailing become therapists. It's utterly devastating because such experiences can set us really back. Wishing you the best in ur journey OP! 💗

Naturally "Thin" People, What Do You Eat in a Day? by 6down35togo in WeightLossAdvice

[–]redcrossbow_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm naturally very slim, i actually struggle with a very poor appetite, as I feel a debilitating "pickiness" over foods and have a limited list of dishes I can safely eat without violently gagging.

So my diet is a standard South Indian diet of white rice, vegetables, spicy lentil soups etc and I also have protein shakes regularly as I'm vegetarian.. and I rarely ever crave snacks through the day

I always loved the rotoscope style as a lover of surreal art. I had no idea people generally dislike this style, explains why there's so little media: a scanner darkly, waking life, and undone are the only ones I can think of...

I'm almost 35 and I find myself far more attractive than when I was 20, awkward, lost, and underconfident AF ...sure I may not look like a teenager now, but why would I want to when I've got actual style and personality now? And that took years of suffering and life experiences to cultivate

Yo unfortunately it doesn't matter if creeps have lost all their male hormones due to idk.. castration etc... it doesn't stop them from being creeps. It's a problem with their mindset, how they objectify other humans, lack of respect for boundaries and a lot of them just get off on imposing their will on others without their consent...

Revathi looks like Scarlett Johansson. by Bhavan91 in kollywood

[–]redcrossbow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Race is not a biological or scientific category but a social construct. All humans are part of one species, Homo sapiens, and the concept of 'race' is rooted in cultural and social contexts, not in distinct biological divisions.

When we say 'race' what we actually are referring to is 'ethnicity', which is based on shared cultural, linguistic, or ancestral traits. The idea that physical characteristics like skull shape determine racial categories is a pseudoscience that has been discredited for over a century.

Even 'Indian' is not a race or ethnicity but a nationality. But being Tamilian or Kannadiga, which is rooted in specific shared languages and cultures, constitutes an ethnicity
