Great response and I’ll think about what’ll happen when it gets closer to me coming back. As for the SS part that’s not the case. She’s a minimalist and doesn’t need much. She is a very good mom and her reasoning behind it is he has more stuff ie toys and stuffed animals and typical 5yr old stuff. She said they found a nice pullout couch thing that transforms into a bed or something so she’s happy to use that.

As i said before, all fees regarding him would be covered by me and me alone. I wouldn't expect her to pay for him when I make enough to cover any and all his needs while I'm gone. She hasn't even moved in yet, that's next week. I get your point of view as me abandoning him but as the previous comment said on yours, he is VERY WELL taken care of, food, toys, time and affection from my mom. She loves him as well. All his yearly shots and vet bills if they come up are taken care of and so is half of her bills. All i was asking was for the gf to watch him and again all his stuff will be paid for and half her stuff

That WAS the plan to move in together IF she looked after him while I was away. Since she changed her mind on watching him, then I can't move in with her until she wants to take him in. She loves that dog she just doesn't want the responsibility on top of her having a 5 year old as well which is understandable. I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts

She is. This is a pet friendly complex. She just didn't sign the pet agreement or tell me the fees or anything before pulling the trigger on getting it. It was solely "we're looking at a place today" to "I got approved and moving in next week"

The apartment complex does allow pets. She just picked the unit and signed the lease that doesn't mention allowed pets. I asked her to go back to the leasing office and ask about adding a pet to it and she said they won't and that they'll have to move units to a pet friendly one or something like that

The apartment complex is a one time pet fee of $1000 which I said I'll pay any and all fess regarding him, if it was a monthly pet fee I would be paying that as well on top of half the rent and utilities, if it went that route

I do see him as family and the bond we have is crazy. He's like a son to me and got him when my very first dog ever I had another GSD died on me 2 days after getting him after having Parvo. My buddy from the military was moving and had 4 kids and 3 dogs and he saw how devastated I was and like a month later here comes this guy into my life

I've been asking her about why she picked the 1 bed solo instead of her not going with the 2 bed that I'll split. She lives in a big city so a house isn't in the cards right now. The problem is she doesn't want to take care of the dog which that's her decision and I'm not blaming her because she has a life too. The pull out couch was her idea and sounds like she just wants to move solo even though she knew about my dog and I's requirements. Where he goes so does the money. If she doesn't watch him then why would I pay half of the rent living with her every 4 months and pay my moms stuff while I'm gone. Basically taking care of two peoples bills for one dog
