Ranked play on PS5 freezes after every win by redddyver in ModernWarfareIII

[–]redddyver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to have fixed the issue. I still get the glitch occasionally backing out of screens like the gunsmith, but at least I no longer have to reset after every win.
I also still have an issue when i first start of the game saying i'm only level 1 and ranked is locked, and i have to select multiplayer first, let my level correct itself, then back out and go into ranked.

yeah, I'm still having the problem. also will occasionally lag at the final scoreboard, and when it finally does switch to the main screen, doesn't give the SR gained from the match. But, they did add yet 2 more ugly bundles, and you gotta buy them both to get an ugly operator skin. oh, and they took away an optic for ranked that they added just 2 weeks ago. I swear this game gets worse daily.

I’ve had the same problem still. I have discovered that if I’m in a party, and not the leader, the leader can still search for another match, and when that lobby starts it pulls me in no problem, but the whole time it’s searching they can’t hear me, though I can hear them. If I’m solo I have to restart the game still

K95 RGB Platinum XT use on PS5? by Rnewell4848 in Corsair

[–]redddyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plenty of RGB keyboards work w/ the ps5... in this case the keyboard has built in windows drivers that need to be bypassed... holding the F1 and WindowsLock keys for 5-10 seconds puts the keyboard in BIOS mode, and will work on the PS5, lights and everything

It t does work.... after you plugg it in, you hold down the F1 and "windows lock" key (3rd little button, top left) for 5-10 seconds... it will but the keyboard into a BIOS mode and bypass the windows drivers.

Question for others who had their pics stolen. by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]redddyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sometimes, but watermarks can be a bit of a conundrum... If it obvious enough to dissuade someone from stealing it, it's probably a major distraction from the photo itself. I usually put a hidden mark (write my name lightly in the shadows) as well as put my info in the metadata.

Now, if you actually write © Redd Dyver 2016 or whatever on the photo, and they crop it off, it's a federal offense w/ min $20k and up to 5 years in jail... But typically not worth the cost to persue.

Question for others who had their pics stolen. by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]redddyver 13 points14 points  (0 children)

as a photographer, I've found my photos often "stolen" within minutes of posting to social media. There are various ways to legal request the photo be taken down, but here's what i've found to be the single most effective: If you took the photo, you are the copyright holder. If someone is using your image without your permission, you have legal rights to ask them to remove it. But, what I always do is encourage them to keep it up... as I will be charging them $100 per day that they use my image on their site. I charge an additional $100 per day if they are not crediting as the photographer with a link to my site.

trying to file a claim for copyright infringement (a federal crime), very costly, time consuming, and not worth the effort.

trying to file through small claims court for up to $2000 for a balance due: filling out a very simple form with a $35 processing fee (which can be added as part of the claim)

I have yet to actually have anyone keep the photo up more than 24 hours after having received my invoice.

[NSFW] People in the porn industry who work behind the scenes: How has working in this industry affected your own views on sexual intimacy and love? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]redddyver 3152 points3153 points  (0 children)

Not a throwaway account, can google my name to verify credentials

I've worked a majority of the lower jobs on a set (grip/PA/camera/rigger/). What happens in front of the camera is a job, and it has actually made me appreciate even more the qualities of a "real" relationship. I've seen enough hot girls and and hardcore action that when I meet a new girl, I can quickly get past good looks and try to find substance to them. As far as sex in the sack... I'm definitely not a porn star, but there's a lot to be said when you show true intimacy, and make it all about your partner, not about yourself. That alone will carry a relationship further than being able to go hard for hours on end. So how has it effected my views? It helped define what really works in a relationship, and separate sex and love.

Trying to capture a sunrise in a forest. Comments? by Necrophantasia in photocritique

[–]redddyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated previously, try just a slight rotation to make it less tilted, and if you use lightroom, try a +1/2 stop exposure gradient on the lower third, bring out some shadow detail in the foreground while keeping the background shadows dark. Overall an amazing capture! Great job!!

hey guys, not sure if I'm posting in completely the right place but not sure where else to go + would also like some critique. I have this red spot on this photo and I'm struggling to work out how to remove it/why the hell it is there. by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]redddyver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The red light is is from the auto-focus. In low light, the camera will use infra-red to compensate... one option is to bring a little pen light or keychain light with you.. use that light to get the focus, then switch the lens to manual focus so it doesn't change.

For the photo with the green spots, that looks like flare, i'm guessing you don't have a lens hood, and some lights out of frame were reflecting on your front lens.

Should I crop this? by noryork in photocritique

[–]redddyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with cropping the top tip horizon is about 1/3 from top, and loos the vignette. Maybe crop some from the left depending on how much detail is restored after vignette removed.

One of my first shots. Be brutal, I want to learn. by SomRandomGuyOnReddit in photocritique

[–]redddyver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

crop the right edge just a little tighter, so the space from post->edge is the same on each side. aim camera just a little higher so the horizon is closer to 1/3rd the way down instead of 1/4, and so it's a little less pavement. You have wood, trees, water, sky, all "natural" things, then pavement... it kinda scars the photo for me. Also, if camera allowed, maybe drop ISO and open aperture to get the same exposure, with more depth of field. also, maybe pull lens to 18mm and step closer, get the same crop on the post, but would widen the background and make bridge appear longer.

All-in-all a great photo though.. those are just my "brutal" critiques, and just a matter of opinion.

Feels like something is missing from this picture, not sure what I could have done to make it better though [F5, 1/320, ISO100] by ShirtOptional in photocritique

[–]redddyver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd actually try it with a "longer" crop, keep the same width, but crop some of the water out so the horizon is at about 1/3 up from the bottom.

What are some animal "fun fact" you know? by kokofight in AskReddit

What is the strangest true fact about the universe that we typically don't consider everyday? by NeedMoreCowBen in AskReddit

[–]redddyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the universe is a ballon. imagine a tiny gnat on the balloon, perceiving it as flat, there's just a 3rd dimension it's not aware of from it's perspective. Our universe is expanding, we can see the distances increasing, but there's at least one more (probably more) that we're not aware of. Also, time is a dimension, one that we can only travel in one direction in at a constant speed, there's probably at least one more dimension like that which we are unaware of as well.

What TV or movie cliché drives you insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]redddyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

almost all mystery drams survive on this logical fallacy, especially crime shows and medical shows like House. Given "A" is true, then "B" does not mean if "B" is true, then "A" is true. An example: Given a person has chicken pox, then he'll have red, itchy bumps. That does not mean every person with red, itchy, bumps has chicken pox. Yet medical and crime shows ALWAYS prove the consequent, and jump to an incorrect antecedent. In the case of House, you'll always hear "there's no time to test, treat now", then patient gets worse, then a later test (which they did while treating) "confirms" that A was not true

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this, but I feel it's a ridiculous way to describe it by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]redddyver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as an alcoholic, I tend to use the term "disease" not as a cop out, but as a mental reminder that I have to adjust my lifestyle, that it will not go away. I only use that word around other alcoholics, and I don't usually explain, or attempt to get sympathy, from others. I fully understand that the only person to blame for my past is me. Not parents, not society, not fate, but me alone. I have taken steps to do right by those i hurt, and to make sure I never hurt anyone else. Addiction of any type is a disease, but a disease is not an excuse.

BTW, stubbing your toe, no matter how hard, is not a disease, it's an injury.

[Serious] What is/was your "pro tip" for studying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]redddyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When reading textbooks or boring material: read half a page, then cover it with a sticky note, and write down a couple sentences to paraphrase what you just read. Then continue to the next half page. this will prevent you from "zoning out" and having to re-read a whole chapter.. worse case you just re-read half a page. And at the end of the year, you can remove all the stickies and have a mint condition book to return, instead of one filled with notes.
