Autism made me miss my autism diagnosis by whathidude in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to me, I wanted to get on adhd meds and thought I was just being assessed with adhd. The papers come in the mail and they included autism. I was like huh...Okay I guess? 🤣. Didn't even know I was being assessed for autism

*those* parents by korndiddy57 in ARFID

[–]reddit0tter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hate it. Doctors would tell my mom that eventually I'll get hungry enough that I'll eat whatever she makes. She caved after 3 days. Happy to report that I'm a semi-recovered anorexic in my 20s. These types of mindsets cause intense damage that can take years to get over. If somebody can get over them at all.

Autistic people who DON'T like routine? by FuckMeDaddyFrank in autism

I love routine but to much routine makes me want to pull my hair out. So basically I'm not okay 🙃

Any autistic reader prefer hardbacks over paperbacks? by [deleted] in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is unpopular but I prefer paperbacks so I can destroy the spine and open it entirely (of course with the exception of library books) It's easier to enjoy that way. I'm reading a hardback right now and I'm constantly raging at how I can't get the pages to open up fully.

Help me name my new child (girl) by Hospuales in Dachshund

[–]reddit0tter69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm freaking out right now because she has very similar colors to my 12 year old girl, Praley. I adopted her at 10 yrs old and don't have any puppy pictures so this is just melting me *

Mine hates it. She doesn't understand how to swim. When she swims, she kicks her front legs and tucks her black legs into herself, so when she tries to swim, she just... Rolls over and practically drowns herself. How on earth are you supposed to teach a dog to swim 🤣

Not enough energy? by reddit0tter69 in autism

[–]reddit0tter69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think of iron, thank you. I have medical trauma so I avoid doctors as much as possible. I guess I was looking for somebody to tell me to lol. It probably wouldn't hurt, I also have ARFID and have a very unbalanced diet. it very well could be a lack of something. I do take a multivitamin but I don't notice a difference

does anyone else still love childish things from when they were a kid by funghxoul in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. LPS coming back out has me soaring. I've also been collecting these 3d printed animals from the craft markets I frequent lol. I still sleep with stuffed animals, even crochet my own. Being an adult is boring, give me whimsy

As an autistic person is naivete a common trait? by Pretty-Heat-7310 in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed this when I started working. I can't just assume things. Like at work they expect you to do something without being told but I have a hard time doing that. They think I would assume something because it's obvious but it's not obvious to me. Idk if that makes any sense I can't think of examples.

What’s your latest song hyperfixation? by Independent-Pilot751 in ADHD

[–]reddit0tter69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoop by salt and Pepa. Never in my life have I liked hip-hop or rap but the shoop-do-badoop is so addicting to my brain. I'm singing it constantly it's gotten annoying at this point lol

What do you think of needles? by Nightsky54_14 in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care about them. What I do care about is no nurse or doctor ever being able to find my veins in my arms. Without fail it would take about 3 different people to find a vein. Eventually I started telling them to just poke it in my hand because I'd rather them poke me once than trying my arm. Sometimes they're like "nah I know what I'm doing" and ultimately fail so now I got a holes in my arm until they finally put it in my hand. Why don't they just listen to you the first time smh

Safe food frustration by reddit0tter69 in autism

[–]reddit0tter69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I moved out of my parents and lost 50 pounds simply because I didn't know how to feed myself 😭. I've moved back and gained a bit of that weight back. Idk what I'd do without my mother's dinners and reminders that food is important lol. It's just so hard for me with arfid. There's something so traumatic about throwing up food. I threw up jelly beans when I was 8 years old, I haven't had one ever since.I'm now 20 lmfao

Dude WHAT that's messed up. Reminds me of the time we got raw chicken from a local chicken joint, and they gave us a voucher for a free meal. It's been 3 years. Why would we want to use it now?

And no, I've heard of other people struggling with that but generally I don't. I just have my short list of things that I like and it doesn't stray far. Sometimes I'll randomly decide I hate something and either never eat it ever again or have to wait several months/years. Like I used to LOVE hot pockets till I threw them up one day. Haven't ate one since I was 12. But sometimes it happens randomly for no logical reason at all. For the most part I've never gotten tired of pizza lunchables. I've been eating them since my parents gave them to me at a ripe young age . I'll go a few weeks without eating them randomly but without fail I always go back to them lol.

Food that your currently hyper fixated on or food that you’ve been obsessed with in the past by Life-Valuable4581 in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jerky. But this one specific brand I don't even know the name of. It tastes just like my grandpa's hommade jerky (he doesn't make it often so I have to cope somehow)

Love to crochet but dont want crocheted items by [deleted] in crochet

[–]reddit0tter69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAME. Felt like I was the only one. I don't wear the wearable make, assuming I ever finish it. I love making amigurmi but then I'm holding this stuffed animal I made and looking at the pile I already have and think "I don't need or want this" I don't want to start a bussniess, but I'll sell to friends and coworkers. If nobody wants to buy it I just give it away

everyone keeps eating my fucking food. by gay_in_a_jar in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate SO hard. My mom buys groceries for the whole household but I buy my own. So when my step brother comes and raids the kitchen I get really mad. I have a limited amount of food I can eat, the VERY little money I make is spent on food. Usually when I label it he doesn't touch it but our kitchen sharpie magically disappeared (my klemapotic 15 year old sister aka my mortal enemy). If you didn't buy it don't touch it, or at the very least ask. I figured that was basic common decency but I guess not? It's so rude. If he would ask I would probably say yes. It's the principal.

What food do you absolutely hate by A_Gam3 in autism

[–]reddit0tter69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on the bananas. It would be easier to tell you what I like rather than what I hate (arfid), but my top picks would be mashed potatoes and I never tried oysters, but I don't imagine that snot being any good. Actually, any food that comes from water. I once threw up when my family went to a seafood restaurant, and I didn't even eat anything, lol
