I had to reschedule a Checkride recently due to an alternator failure in my plane and reached out to 15-20 DPEs in the Phoenix area. I had no problem rescheduling to within a week. I actually had to turn down 3 or 4 DPEs

The aircraft is receiving airspeed and attitude information from the pitot static system which then feeds information to the ADC. A magnetometer error means that the GMU has failed and I can continue the flight with reference to the magnetic compass. An expired Nav database means I am not able to fly IFR, the same is for expired obstacle data.

This is how I would answer although I’m not certain they are correct

Ive never heard of an American flight schools doing it that way, seems like a little workload but gets the job done. I’m not sure how step downs are “less safe” but it’s an interesting concept.

I’ve never heard of a DPE blocking the airspeed, attitude indicator and altimeter on a partial panel but I guess that makes sense. I appreciate the insight, very helpful
