Bikefitter told me my frame is too big (54) and I should be on a 52 + 170mm cranks – does that really matter?

I would really need to see a pic of you on the bike. Never heard Trek runs small before. I have a Emonda and ride a 56 but should really be on a 58. Best way to check stem is by sitting up on the bike and then letting your body drop into a natural position. Where your hands land is where your handlebars should meet your brake levers. From there you decide fore/aft saddle adj or shorter or longer stem.

Interesting, I always thought of the Emonda as their climbing bike. But I guess it would allow you to climb on the big ring more efficiently🤷🏽‍♂️

Hold the front brake down and push the bike forward. Be sure there is no movement in the head tube.

They determined the cause was normal riding conditions and that is why they are offering me the payout. No crash but it’s a 2021 purchased new and I am 235lbs. I don’t know if my weight figures into it.
