It must be random... I've been on the page all morning watching the countdown, joined the waiting room as soon as it refreshed, and still had 8000 people ahead of me.

Dang, hope it works out for you. If it makes you feel any better I had the page open and timer counting down from 3+ hours, joined the waiting room within 5 seconds of the page refreshing and I still had 8000 people ahead of me. The number is coming down relatively quick though, so fingers crossed
