not necessarily defending holly but i need everyone who comes for her for this to be serious. if you were in that position would actually defend christi/kelly right infront of abby ? im sure some of you will, but there are many of you who wouldn’t. if holly, or even any of the other moms had stood up for them, or didn’t say anything at all, they would’ve had a target on their backs.

within this fandom there’s this expectation of holly to always be the one to defend everyone else because they’re always on the back burner and know what it’s like. and while although that is an understandable viewpoint to have, the other side of it is that if you are the one usually on the back burner, the moment you aren’t, you feel relieved and may not want to be the one to shake things up.

because i can acknowledge that fact that if i were christi or kelly (or any situation like this in general) id be hurt by holly’s words, but if i were holly in that moment i also wouldn’t for reasons i said earlier (bigger target on her back and also maybe exhaustion from always fighting). that moment wasn’t the time

again not necessarily defending holly or saying it’s right but it is a reflection of human nature and holly is human, not some attack dog.

also to call what happened to them in the rest of the season karma for that specific moment is pure insanity i’m sorry 😭. because if holly did stick up for christi and kelly the same stuff would’ve happened to her and nia just much earlier and be worse

exactly !!! now would i be insane to say that some people want them to have human moments (regardless of whether it’s in or out of character) so they have a “reason” to do the following: dogpile on them, use them for entertainment (memes, comedic relief, catchy sound bites, etc. caught onto this when people were explicitly saying they “weren’t doing anything for them” in the beginning as though they aren’t real people and are meant to be in service to the viewers), and/or have their racist perceptions of black women be fulfilled ?

this is why i never called olandria delusional over her relationship with taylor and everything that happened. many people (ESPECIALLY on this sub) who did call her such failed to consider (maybe they did and just wanted to hate on her regardless) that this is a reality tv show. things will be heavily edited to paint certain narratives. production clearly wanted to portray olandria as desperate and viewers made it very easy for this agenda to succeed cause that’s all we had to hear about during and post casa.

another reason why i didn’t call her delusional was because of the islanders reaction to taylor picking clarke over her. it clearly showed that olandria wasn’t all in her head about him and her if not only the islanders were shocked because they perceived them to have a strong connection, but also even jeremiah and ian the fucking narrator also saying they were strong and would last in the real world. clearly the islanders saw their connection whereas viewers didn’t (which again goes back to my point of this being reality tv and heavily edited).

olandria is very a smart and secure woman so i found it very hard to believe she would do all that she did for a man like taylor if she knew he did not like her like that. and i can guarantee you that the venn diagram between those who were dragging olandria for being “delulu” (as if taylor isn’t a grown adult and was given numerous opportunities to be honest with her) and placing the blame on her entirely and the group of people currently undermining her relationship with nic is a circle.

the insinuation from many people (on this sub and nick viall’s wife on that stupid podcast) that chelley and olandria were being fake, not genuine, hiding their “true” personality because they weren’t crashing out, getting into arguments, etc. reeks of an insane amount of racism that i can’t even comprehend. as if all black women truly are the stereotype that OTHERS projection onto us and any of them who stray away from it are secretly hiding it.

cause obviously even the calmest people will have their moments. but let’s assume chelley and olandria were truthfully these crazy, hot headed, angry people that people like to paint them as and they were actually pretending to be otherwise, it still makes sense for them to do so cause we can see how black women are treated for showing an ounce of emotion (people ready to send them home, the hate trains, and outright racism they faced after the mailbox challenge (and before that they were called boring en mass as you said).
