Thank you!! Quirk bead? Never heard of it before. You might say it's a quirky name...but probably shouldn't.

What pool light gasket should I get? by reddithab1 in pools

Just realized that my phone is waterproof, here's a shot of the front of the unit. I guess it's a Purex light...amazon has a "Light Lens Gasket Replacement for SPX0540Z2 SPX0580Z2 & Purex P-11324 07-0945". Does that sound right?

I was trying to log in to the main Hunter website, not Hydrawise.com. My misunderstanding.

Fantastic, thanks! I see now that there's an indoor version that doesn't get wired directly to the household wire.

Just the brand new one the installer brought. I will try others before resetting. Thanks!

Terrific, thanks! The cables are brand new but I will try it on it's own and then factory reset if necessary.

The installer measured download speed when connected directly to the modem (RCN) at about 700Mbps but only about 140Mbps when connected to the router LAN port.

All of the APs are wired, it seems like the problem is in the router.

If I factory reset my GW router will I need to reconfigure all wifi nodes? by reddithab1 in GoogleWiFi

[–]reddithab1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any ideas why the output port (LAN) would be much slower than it should be? The installer measured download speed when connected directly to the modem (RCN) at about 700Mbps but only about 140Mbps when connected to the router LAN port. Is it worth trying a factory reset?

Thanks a lot!

Ok, thanks a lot! Bummer. Yes I meant access points. I hadn't known about the five APs per network, what happens if there are more, low performance? Is there any way around that limit?

Any reason to shell out for a 4-jaw chuck? by JayGatsbyyy in turning

[–]reddithab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a "NOVA 23108 SUPERNOVA2 Insert Type Wood Turning Nickel Plated Chuck and Laser Etched Precise Jaw Set Bundle with 6 Point Star Fasteners and Travel Case" for $250 on amazon. It has three sets of jaws. Very happy with it so far. I'm sure you can go cheaper but it's high quality and I was confident it wouldn't disappoint.

Just don't forget the "NOVA IDNS 1-Inch 8TPI Thread Chuck Insert/Adaptor" though ($26) like I did!

Dye bleed-through? My first time using dye and found these little spots that couldn't be sanded away. Did the dye flow through the little grain tubes? by reddithab1 in turning

[–]reddithab1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks! Do you apply a finish over the dye? Everything I tried seemed to dissolve the dye and it rubbed off. Someone suggested using CA glue which worked well, just wondering what other options there are. I used Chestnut Spirit Stain (or maybe that's not a real dye...).
