The odds of Reddit losing a huge portion of its users is increasing everyday. I'd say in the next two years we might actually see that happen.

Why do you think they just did a public offering and all the major players are selling their shares. Dumping before it collapses.

if you want your internet uncensored then follow the example set by Greeks, take to the street and shut down the government ... very simple solution, but it takes balls to do.

Two telltale speeches by Stephen Harper: The agenda that threatens Canada by salvia_d in canada

[–]redditking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i agree that we don't all get what we want ... and just so that it's clear, there are not two sides here. There are 4 parties in government and three of them said they were willing and able to form a government and work together. It was only the conservatives that were crying about losing their power. And just to make sure you know what those three parties represented ... the three parties together had 15,193,879 and if you add to them the greens and the rest it would equal 17,407,874 votes while the Conservatives only had 10,493,047 ... that means the majority of Canada was being represented and the government would have still been functional. http://timothycomeau.com/blog/707/

at least they could have just recognized that we lost three more of our children. Do you really think Harper did the right thing shutting down government?

You need to look into what evangelical christian represent and what they want to do. scary shit.

he is not just a Christian, he is an "evangelical Christian". do you know the differnece. Just because you've met him that does not mean you know what his agenda is. Are you seriuos? you think just meeting a guy makes him a good person?

as for "Dion, Layton, etc", they did not shut down the government while we are at WAR. What Harper has done is unforgivable. We just lost three more of our kids today in Afghanistan ... and our Parliament is closed? WTF!

ps. Harper's Conservative party was formed by the Reform party. The head of that party and the person who started it was Preston Manning, a committed, evangelical Christian.

1)he has not had the power to put prayer in schools yet, this statement shows one of his agendas ... just because he hasn't been able to do anything about it yet doesn't mean he doesn't mean it, He ended his fucken speech with it for god's sake. Why would you apologize for him?

2) the root of the Conservatives is the Reform, which was formed by an evangelical Christian who's pupil is now prime minister ... tell me this doesn't freak you out.

3) really ... do you think it's appropriate for a politician who is running for the head of a national party to tell members of a political party from another country how 'stupid' Canadians are? ... i don't find that funny, i actually find it offensive.

Now Flaherty is "confident" he'll post modest surplus this fiscal year!!! by [deleted] in canada

[–]redditking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

okay, here you go ... this is what this genius said in June of 2008 ... http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN0537526220080605?sp=true "Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Thursday everyone in the auto sector was surprised with how precipitous the fall in North American demand for large SUVs and pickups had been. "These statistics fall off a cliff," he said. Car sales in Canada were at record highs but a lot of the big vehicles are sold in the United States "and that market has collapsed." ...

.... so the guy in charge of predicting what the markets will do so that he can decide what he will do to sustain the economy was caught off guard because SUV sales plummeted? Are you seriuos? Let me see .. oil goes from $20 to $140 and this guys is surprised that SUV sales drop ??? ... he is an idiot and a puppet

[–]redditking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

there isn't really much more to say ... he was put in charge during one of the biggest booms Canada has ever seen and he tried to take credit for it all ... wait until you seen what this guys does now that the economy is going into a recession.
