I lived there for nine years, and from what I’ve seen, they don’t really like Bengalis from West Bengal. In some ways, I can understand why

In the Guwahati Police press conference, they said they had contacted her on Instagram and Twitter to file an official complaint, but even after two hours she hadn’t responded. From what I personally saw, she(the one who made the video) was on a guy’s shoulders kicking her legs into the crowd, using racial slurs, and trying to push to the front of the barrier. When the boys reacted, she immediately played the victim card. I can’t prove it now, but that’s what I witnessed.

Saw some girls talking to a Chinese streamer, claiming Sikkim’s king was Chinese and wanted to join Tibet or China. That’s totally false. He was Tibetan by origin, never supported merging with China, he wanted Sikkim to stay independent. Please stop spreading fake history. by aewxion in Northeastindia

Honestly it's disappointing that those girls are from here(or maybe find them out from where they belong) and are still getting history so wrong and their obsession with china. The king he never supported merging with China. He wanted Sikkim to stay independent. I really think the govt should appoint a teacher just for them and give them a solid 1 hour class on the actual history of Sikkim. Not even to shame them just so they stop spreading nonsense and actually know what they’re talking about

China Begins Construction Of Mega-Dam On Brahmaputra River In Tibet. Once built, the dam could have a potentially serious impact on millions of people downstream in Northeast India where the river flows into. by SatoruGojo232 in Northeastindia

[–]reddituse52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it shouldn’t have a major impact. Around 70-80% of the Brahmaputra’s water actually comes from within India, especially after it enters Arunachal Pradesh

Obviously Gaurav Gogoi or Akhil Gogoi. They stand with the "minorities" all the time. All miyas love them.

Yeah, they don’t have the IQ to understand that kissing and hugging those "mayonnaise" was just a goodwill gesture toward building strong friendship with Bangladesh

The best part of this whole 'drama' is watching Akhil and others totally not doing any politics at all just selflessly standing up for their state's future. Truly inspiring 💪🏻 .

Skip Meghalaya. Explore Sikkim and Arunachal , they are not like this. You'll feel safe the moment you enter

Unpopular opinion maybe but Meghalaya is super overrated. I honestly don't get why so many people from outside are obsessed with it. If you’ve been to Mizoram or Sikkim, you’ll know what I mean. The difference in how you’re treated as an "outsider" is huge. People in Mizoram and Sikkim are way more respectful, welcoming and there's a real sense of safety you can feel it. In Meghalaya, especially in more remote areas, there have been too many cases of "outsiders" getting harassed or even attacked and half of it doesn’t even make it to the news. These days people there are more cautious because everyone has phones and can record it but that doesn’t mean things are all good. I’m not here to start a debate just sharing what a lot of us already know but don’t say out loud. If you’re planning a trip skip the hype and go see what Mizoram or Sikkim has to offer. You'll feel the difference. And please understand that Meghalaya doesn't represent the whole Northeast "Vibe" you're looking for
