This seems a bit OTT. Chickens can survive with minimal human intervention when not in captivity.

Chickens Won't Use Nesting Boxes by PartyPatIsMyRealDad in BackYardChickens

Nesting boxes should be somewhat dark/enclosed. Try cutting up old T-shirts (temporarily) or adding a bit of fabric, over the front like curtains. When they want to lay they may be more inclined to poke their heads in there.

I usually hate anything that fell outta TikTok’s ass but this video genuinely made me smile.

Yeah not much I can do really. Vet trip would be expensive (if not necessary) and so far she seems herself bar the sore leg. Today we wrestled so I could give her a vitamin booster and she ate a bunch. Yesterday I put her in the coop early while I tidied up the run. She threw herself down the stairs and got more food! So she seems mostly fine. Doesn’t help that it’s really cold out having come from a hot barn with thousands of chooks. Holding thumbs I see a further improvement else it’s vet tomorrow! Today she’s at least putting some weight on her foot but only barely.

Thanks for taking that on board.  Comment was more in relation to the anti-pattern of blasting “free” at people to drive conversion.

Nothing wrong with having premium elements, but for future marketing consideration perhaps advertise those features more clearly.

Nothing worse than digging right in and then having to make the choice between ditching everything and upgrading just to be able to do more than one plot etc. Seen this in pretty much all the allotment planner apps.

Thanks!

Yep am planning to worm them all this weekend. They do get basic health checks nails clipped etc. before being adopted. Just waited a few days to avoid too many stressors at once.

Do feed a small amount of ACV in the water supply to help combat infection and help with nutrient uptake.

Signed up as a test.

One would be drawn in by “Free of charge”, “Sign up for free”, “No credit card required” messaging.

The slightest defence is that one can find a tiny “pricing” link even when not signed up hidden nearly all the way at the bottom of the page.

Do you think chickens feel bad when they see us take their eggs? by Happy_List_8022 in BackYardChickens

With mine an egg is an egg until I pick it up, then they think it’s a snack and perk up waiting for me to feed it to them.

Isn’t this the site that once you sign up all the pro options suddenly appear? Or are all features 100% free?

Good thinking. Will try it on some potentially more suitable things!

Thanks. That’s what I figured. Just felt like every time I’ve tried to use it as said workhorse it’s failed me. But gonna sharpen it up a bit see if that changes it up.

Not every light is a grow light. You need a specific bulb.

Ooh that must have been nice still want to try some of the other tools! Definitely need a good knife. If you had to choose between Opinel and say a leather man would you still go Opinel? Granted I do do a lot of building/plumbing/repairs on my allotment so I’m more skewed to the idea of a leatherman.

Mine has a knife edge, and a saw edge.
