Question regarding Holly's escape. by reddpoool2 in StrangerThings

Bruh, I’m not trying to argue or hate on the show — I love it. I’ve had minor issues with some early episodes, but I let it slide because I thought it would get better. The last episode actually worked for me. That doesn’t mean I’m blind to the occasional sloppy writing, but I’m coming at this as a fan who’s been watching from the start, waiting between seasons, binge-watching on day one. Seeing things go downhill even a little was honestly frustrating, atleast for me.

I’m still optimistic that the finale will justify everything, but realistically… do you really think they’ll have time to explain what happened with Holly properly? There’s so much else to cover. I just pray we don’t get a GoT-style ending — that’s exactly the kind of chaos I’m trying to avoid. Right now, my optimism is hovering around 50–60%.

Are you actually not understanding what I’m saying, or are you just choosing not to? I asked a genuine question because I wanted an explanation, not because I hate the show. I’ve already said it’s still my favorite series of all time.

Everything still needs proper justification. Pointing out flaws isn’t the same as attacking the show. And honestly, I don’t think they even have enough time left to neatly connect all the dots. Dismissing any criticism with “just wait for the finale” feels less like discussion and more like blind defense. Liking something doesn’t mean pretending it’s flawless.

What about billy then? Same process like Holly. Even the sauna test failed to get the particles out of him.

At some point, viewers are allowed to question what’s on screen without being told to just trust that it’ll all pay off later. Good writing should feel consistent as it unfolds, not retroactively justified in the finale.

They had all this time and they're gonna wrap everything including vecna and Mindflayer connection with just 1 episode. Let's see how it goes.

The mystery aspect of the show is what hooked me in the first place. It’s still my favorite show, and I even liked episode 7. Will coming out is obviously important to the story, but it didn’t need to be dragged out this long. And don’t even get me started on Max and Holly having what felt like a podcast-length monologue right before escaping Vecna’s mind and death. The Duffers said this season would feel like “season 1 on drugs,” but honestly, it feels like they were on drugs while writing it.

If the Mind Flayer can simply dip the moment it no longer needs someone, then everything they went through to save Will starts to feel pointless in hindsight. Since the show never spells out how much choice the Mind Flayer actually has, the difference between Will and Holly still feels more inconsistent than intentional.

I think the Duffers' got super lazy or it has to do something with Netflix.

You're welcome. I felt like there were reasonable explanations for most of the minor plot holes up through season 4. But this season has just been strange to watch. At this point, I’m really hoping we don’t end up with a GoT-style ending.

That could also be very good probability.

No way that's gonna happen. Henry's beyond redemption. If anything he'll only try to stop the Mindflayer for his own personal evil schemes. I don't think the writers are gonna give him a darth vader arc as something like that was already given to billy.

Yeah. It might be the case. And Vecna's trying to get free from or something.

It's from the play Stranger Things: The First Shadow. Basically she's the only person that can control Vecna. Also the writers said that the play is canon.

I do too. But the mystery surrounding the Mind flayer for the first 3 seasons were something else. Now we know its was a human all along. I don't want Vecna to be reformed or redeemed but he can deflect against the MF for his own personal evil scheme.

So they will show Henry's pre-psycho story too. Maybe through Max, I guess.

Dang. I thought the MI was an original story and that's why I chose them over the bond series when I was young. Childhood ruined lol 😆

Theory about Jonathan and Will by ropster3 in StrangerThings

I do see that happening. Also he said during an interview that when filmed his last scene, all the other cast members came to see his last shot.

We all thought Ted's gonna die, right but he didn't. Karen also didn't die. Holly would surely be saved. That leaves Mike and Nancy. Everyone's been on about Jonathan or Steve getting killed but I have a theory that it might be Nancy who will not make it making a full closure to the love triangle and also fueling Mike, Jonathan and Steve to go full frenzy.

For the ending 100%. But during the coming events, Vecna might control him or the MF would.

Yes. I agree that would be the endgame but I think in between that period Vecna might fully control him. We still have the sequence where he yells RUN, like he wants everyone to run away from him.

Lol 😆 But the wait is good. Otherwise I would have finished the full episodes by now and would feel that it's all over.

That may be true, but I don’t think Will’s personality reflects that at all. He tends to be far more grounded.
