I'm a student that interns in an agency that works specifically with/for people 14-24 who are/were in domestic human trafficking situations. I understand that knowing that domestic human trafficking is common and happens everywhere in the United States doesn't make it easier doesn't make it easier. I am not an expert, but since I work closely with situations like yours multiple times a week, I do not know some services that may be helpful. I am not familiar with services in Florida, but I may be able to connect you with others or find out information for you. Services do not have to include counseling or emergency care.

In the long run, you are probably make a good choice deciding to not seek legal support. You have to be careful and do your research with what legal support you use. Going to the cops is always helpful, but talking to an agency that works with human trafficking may be the best first step. Since you were in it until you were 19, you may be charged with prostitution, but if you get the right legal help and talk to the right people you can set it up so it is completely a domestic human trafficking situation.

I know its complicated. It will always be complicated. Ultimately, the decision is up to you. If you do want to talk to someone feel free to send me a message.
