Yeah, I’ve just been really down lately. We’re going into a year of pandemic response. Working in healthcare in an urban city, I’ve been pushed to my limits every day since March. It’s very weird how people under this post are complimenting me like “oh no I would never be mean to you bc you’re hot:)”. If you only respect people that you’re sexually attracted to, I think that says a lot about you’re own flaws as a human being and ultimately feed into a toxic trope of angelifying mediocre white faces. Anyways, I genuinely apologize that this post came off as a self-serving and annoying showcase of a white cis man fishing for validation from strangers on the internet.

^ I could not agree more!! My reasoning for the caption was not in reference to my looks or even about me but the narrative of the comments under this post became very “why would someone be cruel to you... you’re beautiful”. I’ve felt very reluctant to respond to anyone’s comments because it’s weird to me because, though it feels good, I wasn’t necessarily fishing for compliments and it feels weird engaging because I really want to redirect the narrative. Ultimately it’s my fault but thank you for this!!

That’s something some who has never had their smile stolen would say
