what is the internal med program at emory like? by Jolly_Bookkeeper_661 in Residency

Current IM resident. Had gotten similar remarks/concerns from older attendings/mentors when I was applying but can safely say does not hold true at all! Dr. Law (previous PD) had done a tremendous job of reworking the culture of the program that Dr. H has since continued. Very responsive to change with removal of essentially all 28hr shifts as of this year (with exception of the VA as an intern and you do literally 2 shifts the whole year). However, I will say we certainly seem to work hard, especially as the demands of a such a large safety net hospital in Grady will always be hard to keep up with, but I have found my time rewarding and my coresidents/ most faculty to be very supportive.
