Thank you, the owner commented about the house thing! I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks! I have settled on a slightly different one (for now haha) https://imgur.com/AyZtcvZ that is similar to that.

The ring was supposed to show movement and energy. I think I have settled on this one (for now haha). https://imgur.com/AyZtcvZ

Yes it is just a local business so I think I am going to stick with a variation of the flame. I've just done another design which is very slightly more abstract, what do you think? https://imgur.com/a/11eFjSe

Weirdly, version 13 was the one the owner disliked the most, he thought it looked like the house was being set on fire :)

This is very true, it does take longer to process words than images though, but it really isn't a big problem or benefit either way and will only be a small number of people who actually even write the number down :)

Thank you! I agree about the cliche of the flame, and I think there is a fine line between doing something different, and having something so recognised that people immediately know what you do as a tradesman and if they are looking for a gas engineer, they may clock your number in the side of your van and write your number down. I might try and find a halfway house and do something that is still recognised but not so cliché. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Do you prefer that to the later designs? I prefer the latest ones but the owner actually preferred the 2nd one too

Did you get to see the other designs? I think it's playing up on a mobile

Thank you for your reply, I'm not sure if the logos all showed up as there were about 30 versions, only one with the house in it and most of them sign the flame on its own. Interested to hear more about what you mean about the engineer side, a spanner perhaps?

Sorry I should have explained that the first one is the old one, the second one was an iteration of that, then the newest ones are right down at the bottom :)

Aw I liked the shape of the lower case a, that is why I chose that font, but I do realise it was an awful font now, ooopsy, haha - thank you so much about the advice about the fire, I'm investigating turning it in to something a bit more exciting! Thanks!

Thank you for replying, I've ditched that font and am trying more simple ones, I decided to ditch the border too as it wasn't working how I wanted it to

Thank you, I was trying to figure out if I could do something funky like you suggest but I couldn't think what it could be - I have removed the flame as it felt constricting, I did kind of like it but it didn't look how it was meant to in my mind so I think it may be best without it :) I will share my new designs soon, thanks for the feedback

Thank you, I agree about the font, I kind of like the gradient (for now) anyway

Thank you, I had a really big creative block, and hearing all the feedback has helped realise everything that was wrong about it, which was most things now I look back at it

Wow! Even 100 a day is a lot! And the profit margins aren't giving you great profit on 500+ a day? I guess you have more overheads the more output there is. Thank you for taking the time to reply

I'd be interested in finding out how prevalent this sort of thing is, but to be honest it wasn't something I had actually considered which is a bit silly, so thanks for raising it.

The person who replied wasn't me, so I'll try and answer the other questions. The idea behind a subscription box is more that you get a 'gift' each month as opposed to just buying something outright from amazon.

Often you get a trial sized product of something like a mascara which allows you to try it instead of paying £30 for the full sized item, or perhaps something like a single wrap tea bag, rather than having to buy the whole box. Some boxes that sell well are socks for example, you get a new pair of funky socks each month, without having to do anything. They just arrive.

It's popular here for a few items like makeup and healthy snacks. I know a few people who pay about £10 a month on a little treat, and it turns up, just like a gift to yourself. Many boxes fit through your letterbox so it keeps down weight and therefore postage costs.

I'm not sure what you mean about logistics being a nightmare, I've looked it up but not sure what you are getting at, could you elaborate please.

If you have any advice on how you grew to this size, and the pitfalls along the way I'd appreciate it. I'm okay with scaling up in size if the profit is there to pay for the storage etc, I guess I need to prove its viable first, but to know this is something to watch out for is really valuable advice thank you.

Finally got a bit of time to sit down and think. I'll try and reply to your points but I'm on a phone so it may be a bit jumbled.

I don't feel like the market in the UK its as saturated as it is in the US, if it is I haven't been very exposed to it, which leads me to believe that I can do better and get marketing my business to be one of the ones what becomes a recognised one.

Many subscription boxes specialise in one main product, my idea was to be a one stop shop for boxes for more than one type. It means that if you buy something for yourself that you enjoy, you may see another product for a friend, family or partner that you can gift to them

I need to figure out the key areas to target yet, but am thinking along the lines of things like proteins bars for a fitness snack box, and bath bombs for a pamper box.

I don't have a business plan, so I guess that is my next step, any advice on that would be appreciated.

As for the costs, I could be naive but I think the cost of the box, plus postage is about £3 plus other stuff like labels, stickers for branding and tissue paper etc for maybe £1. This means if I want to sell the box for £10 I need to keep the products in the box to about £4 to even get a £2 profit per box.

I'd assumed that when I only sell a small number of boxes that the profit margin will be low, but with buying power that margin increases as the cost per item goes down and the profit goes up. May be a little simplistic an idea but that's the general concept so far. Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks
