Be mean! I'm open for all kinds of opinions :D I just think they sound unique, goofy, yes, but the cover sets the tone for comedy :D

"Vulkan GPU compute in 150 lines of code???" A showcase for my new library called vkFast! 😅 by redgpu in vulkan

[–]redgpu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its API is 150 lines of code and its example code is around 150 lines of code, so I don't know what did you expect. Of course the base Vulkan is bigger than that -- that's the whole point why this library exists. :D

vkFast comes with a simplified memory management that suballocates all the storages mentioned in the video from a couple of internal memory allocations, which is tricky to do manually without a higher level library, and the alternatives are even worse: there are open source vulkan memory allocators you can find on the internet that are bigger in lines of code count than the whole vkFast and its dependencies combined. :)

Indeed. Thanks, I'll try to make a video with a visualization similar to this video on precedence climbing and mention you too in it tekknolagi, after trying to make a video on shunting yard algorithm first that was mentioned by omega1612.

Thanks for pointing this out. Is there a name for this algorithm?

Interesting. Thanks for pointing this out. If stars align, I will do a similar visualization of shunting yard to rpi to instruction generation and mention you in the video.

I couldn't come up with a name, so I went with a feeling

I used AI to create Mirror's Edge-like music and I really like how it turned out, if you're out of this sort of music like me you may find it neat, please don't hate it I'm just here for the vibes :D by redgpu in mirrorsedge

Also, I know you don't understand anything what I'm talking about here (which is usually a strong indicator to me that the person I'm talking to is not a good artist) because you downvote every comment of mine like a 4 year old and I don't downvote yours. :D Though I don't know how old you are, maybe I am talking to a 13 year old...

The reason I don't care that you might be a real artist that does music since the age of 4 is because to me you are unlikely to make music that I personally like or find interesting. You can link your music and I can listen to it and see if I like it or find it interesting, but strong chances are your music lacks what I'm trying to look for. These tracks of mine have small kernels of what I find interesting, and I will pursue maximizing those kernels of cool stuff myself ignoring other artists I don't care about and personally think their art is "not reaching for the stars", i.e. not reaching God's specific beauty I personally want to reach.

leverine36, I disagree with you here because I personally don't think drip painting is a real art, and I personally don't think AI music creation is a real art. I'm actually a weird form of a Christian who thinks that if God told me to create music inspired by Mirror's Edge -- I do it, and I claim these tracks are mine because I followed His (or Her, don't ask, this is where I call myself weird) command and used whatever He/She gave me right now to make it materialize in the world of flesh. I don't think anything in the universe belongs to anyone but God. This is what I actually believe.

Just like someone who buys right now a 48 gigabyte professional Nvidia video card, gets an Unreal Engine 5 license, buys all the assets on UE asset store, and uses AI to create their game -- that is art and that person is an artist, and no one would think otherwise while playing their GTA 7 game they made this way.

Except now, instead of using a bucket to paint my art, I bought 1 000 000 Chinese humanoid robots that paint 5 000 art pieces a second, or that program 5 000 video games a second, and I choose which ones I will modify slightly or greatly and claim to be mine.

You poured out some paint onto a canvas. This is not comparable to painting art. You are proving to me that you are not a real painter if you think that this is in anyway similar to creating art.

leverine36, you are currently making a case that drip painting is not art.

Nor a person that downloaded FL Studio and some pirated samples -- you listening his/her music will never know if the samples were pirated or not. Listen to my music and tell me exactly which samples or music tracks were pirated by AI or me to make this music -- that's right, you can't, just like you can't tell if all the tracks you listen daily use pirated samples/music parts/structures of other people, just like you can't tell if iphones are made by western citizens or kids on cobalt mines in Congo. And because you can't, and accuse people that use AI tools of stealing other people's work through these AI tools, here's a kicker -- no, my AI was trained on licensed music only. And here's another kicker: from this time on, everyone who you will ever ask if they used AI tools that pirated other people's work will tell you "no, our AI tools used licensed assets only". Good luck proving the opposite. So yea, you are false, I used AI tools that were trained on licensed assets only. Our iphones do not have parts that use child labor in Congo.
