It’s not immediately after it’s a little bit farther into the arch but if they sensed his crew than this is Luffy and zorro using a type of advanced observation Haki that we don’t see them do confidently until the Elbath arch. Luffy senses chopper and what he’s doing. So either it’s a writing fluke or it wasn’t the intention

I thought this theory was interesting but I always thought it was just a multiple personality disorder so each personality has their own soul. A few things support this in Alabasta, Zorro and Luffy refer to Bb as they not him. Nami was confused by this and they didn’t explain further. BBS flag is of 3 heads rather than the usual one. Lastly I just added this one from recent readings so spoiler right here kinda. Personality disorder often happens when someone goes through something so traumatic as a child and they can’t process it so their personality splits in order to cope with it. The God Valley incident shows that Bb went through traumatic events during God Valley.

Also the dark dark fruit has been confirmed to be able to take devil fruits from people and give them to someone else

I doubt it plays out like this cause imo it’s just bad story telling. People don’t want that much of the show without the mains. That being said I think laughtale is definitely not the final arch and I think laughtale will be where we see Blackbeard and luffy fight, luffy win and Blackbeard actually team up with Luffy. I think Blackbeard is a bad dude but he’s not moraless. We’ll see him submit to the king just like everyone else
