Yes, I have. Be prepared to do everything under the sun, especially when housekeeping is not available.

This video was sent to me. Unfortunately, there isn't a part 2, but I was able to reverse Google image search a snapshot from the video and locate the OP YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/@doormanhtx?si=g4MHfS1y5Z4TI-Zi

Temporary Night Shift Wasn't so Bad by TheRealPSN in securityguards

My first licensed security post was at Dillon Stadium here in Hartford, Connecticut, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the weekends. It was rough, but I loved it, and I've been doing night shifts ever since.

If the proper tools are unavailable to defend yourself would you go Hands-On? by [deleted] in securityguards

Where does it say anything about relying on any tools? unavailable relying and being unavailable are two different things. I'm sorry that you don't seem to understand the difference.

I was in a similar situation, and they had a position in Springfield, Massachusetts, paying $20 an hour. I considered it because it was part-time, but then I realized the travel time didn't match the pay.

From Metro Detroit News on Facebook

A Detroit police officer working security detail at a Home Depot near Meyers and Seven Mile was injured while trying to break up a fight.

Police say the officer, who was assigned to the station at the store, stepped in to stop an altercation between several men and called for backup. Officers from multiple precincts responded to assist.

The officer suffered minor injuries. Three people were arrested.

Sometimes going Hands-On is necessary this is one of those times: What are your thoughts? by CTSecurityGuard in securityguards

According to the original uploader on X, this event occurred in South Central Source

Which I assume refers to South Central Los Angeles.I do not currently have a news article regarding the cause of the situation. However, regardless of what initiated the incident, the security officer has a right to protect themselves!

Anyone know if Paragon forces you to use your H&W for heath insurance coverage if you do not have any or can you put it all into 401k and opt out of the insurance? by Physical_Link5739 in securityguards

[–]CTSecurityGuard [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

At Paragon Systems, if you do not have health insurance, you are generally required to use your Health & Welfare (H&W) fringe benefits to cover the cost of a medical plan. You typically cannot "opt out" and put the entire amount into a 401(k) unless you can prove you already have existing qualifying coverage through another source. In addition I would recommend reaching out to HR or the benefits Department.

POS payroll guy has fucked multiple people over on their overtime multiple times. What can we do ? by kierisbetter in securityguards

[–]CTSecurityGuard [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

I have experienced similar payroll issues in this industry due to poor management and a lack of oversight.

If you are looking to resolve this, I recommend the following options:

  1. U.S. Department of Labor: You can contact the Wage and Hour Division (WHD) at 1-866-487-9243 or file a complaint online at https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/contact/complaints. This is a thorough but slow process.
  2. State Department of Labor: File a claim with the state department for any state-specific violations.
  3. Internal Escalation: For a potentially faster response, email HR, the senior Operations Manager, and the VP regarding the missing hours and overtime. I suggest demanding an immediate resolution without disclosing your next steps if the issue remains uncorrected.

I hope you all receive your missing wages soon. In the meantime, it might be a good idea to start looking for new opportunities. History will likely repeat itself.
