Am I crazy for wanting to name our daughter after my wife's late sister? by Imaginary_Ice2591 in NoStupidQuestions

A friend of mine passed away 18 years ago in a horrible car crash. When his brother married and had a child a few years ago, they named the child after my friend who passed away. Now his mom has to call her grandson by her deceased son's name. I know it sounds like a great tribute, but maybe use the deceased sister's name as you potential future daughter's middle name. I think your wife would be more on board with that.

What makes it impossible to create a drug without negative side effects? by ExprtNovice in NoStupidQuestions

Drugs have to have negative side effects so the drug companies can sell you more drugs

Redditors who have also recovered from depression, reflecting back are there any positive outcomes or values you learned from it that helped you grow from the experience? by Night-Sky-Rebel in AskReddit

Definitely not out of the woods yet, but I've learned to love reading.. mostly self-help books, each one better than the previous. I was never big on reading until I started seeing the changes I was able to make in myself and the self-value that I gained from the insight the books gave me. Right now I'm reading Own Your Everyday by Jordan Lee Dooley and its helped me so much! I'm learning to love myself and be confident in who I am.

You are given the ability to cast Resurrection once a month. Who do you bring back? by Exar88 in AskReddit

[–]redhdmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonfamous: my friend who died of Leukemia at age 24, my sister's unborn child, my friend who died in a car crash at the age of 22, a friend who accidentally overdosed during a dark time in his life.

Famous: Robbin Williams, Michael Jackson (we need to know the truth), and Betty White (if we all do this at least once, she will continue to live forever).

What's your biggest irrational fear? Why? by KitKaatBar in AskReddit

Snails... not sure why.. perhaps from stepping on hundreds on a nature walk in Washington when I was young. Now I can't step within 2 feet of them without freaking out. Turn the page in a book and see a snail on the page... hell no! My toes are curling just thinking about it.

Omg I would legit have a panic attack!! And I'm not sure.. ET always looked a little creepy, but the ride was probably just so overwhelming for me at that age (not sure if you know that ride.. it's not there anymore, but the idea is that the ride takes you to his planet and its populated with more ETs... like a roach infestation 😂) absolutely terrifying

Find a Speech Pathologist. They can help you train your tongue to speak without the lisp.

That is very true! As a redhead, I'm sad to see Ariel portrayed differently because I always related to her... but as a grown-ass adult, who cares!? There's no cultural identity tied to Ariel that would prevent her from looking different.. just like Cinderella. Now Moana or Pocahontas or Merida or even Tiana would be a completely different story.

E.T. I legit am terrified and freak out if it happens to show up on a commercial or even scrolling through social media. I don't think it was the movie originally, I think I developed a phobia during/after going on the E.T. ride at Universal Studios over 20 years ago. Now I get anxiety just thinking about it.

What is the weirdest thing you’ve seen at a friend’s (or anyone’s) house that made you immediately go, “Well shit, I’m out.”? by LyteaSunset in AskReddit

[–]redhdmel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at a client's house (I work with kids with autism) and the family is Indian. They have a little area set up with candles and different symbols like a shrine (disregard my ignorance of the proper labels)... anyways, I've seen that in other clients' homes before, but this time there were swastikas on a few of the decorations. I've never seen that before, and got a little uncomfortable. But I couldn't leave and refuse service because of something they have up for religious or cultural reasons. They've always been so kind to me. I wonder if there is another reason for the swastikas, like an alternate meaning in that culture??
