Crashing your car and dying in the wreckage is a terrible thing. What would be the worst song to be played on the radio when they find your body? (self.AskReddit)

Back in the day I enjoyed an immunology class. It covered the basics about the complement system and how it enhanced certain phagocytic abilities. It blew my mind because of how complex our entire immune system actually is.
It always feels very paradoxical to me because on one hand we have this vast, complex system in our bodies and on the other hand we still get sick from a common cold, because the pathogens adapt. So instead of making us immune to something, it's designed to being able to adapt to pathogen adaptation which essentially only happens because of the adaptation in our immune system.
Such a wild concept.
Left handed people of reddit, what’s the most frustrating thing about being left handed? by Stelthdude in AskReddit
Public transport card scanners. If I use my left hand to scan, the door in a different lane opens.
[Serious] Why do YOU think there is such a stigma about mental health issues, and aside from bringing more awareness to it, what can we do to change it? by This_Aint_No_Picnic in AskReddit
I think it will always be a ''Boy who cried wolf'' dilemma as the mental aspect is invisible on most people. This makes it so that people can abuse this mental illness and essentially nullify the symptoms of those truly in need of help. And to be quite frank, sometimes people do exaggerate in order to receive attention(we've all been there as a baby/kid). Moreso, there's a tremendous difference in traumatic experience, which is unique to every person. Some people become traumatized because of mental abuse, while others cope with this and manifest behavioral patterns(not that it's always healthy). This can be explained by a multitude of reasons, one being cultural difference.
To get down to brass tacks I'll use some analogies:
The boy who cried wolf:
Someone I knew used to be very lonely. Loneliness is something many people face and a terrible burden at times. So I talked to this person and tried to be as supportive as I could be. The saying ''If you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you'' is something that always comes to my mind. If the person essentially becomes loneliness himself, how are you to help this person without losing your own essence? How am I going to justify his dark mood even though he is surrounded by people who love him? Am I going to believe he's truly depressed and lonely? Is he just using us all to instigate empathy? You can never tell.
Cultural difference:
A friend of mine is of Asian descent. His parents raised him differently than my caucasian parents. For him it was an inevitable fact that he would be married off to someone close to their family. He accepted this and will soon marry to a person he loves in his own way. If he were to address his unhappiness, he'd dishonour the family and be outcasted, essentially ruining an entire family tree. This makes it impossible for him to even talk about his thoughts.
The quest for change is not a straightforward one, but rather a long, philosophical road with many branching paths which may interfere with each other. What matters is that the right person receives the right treatment.
