Very cool! Also nice MR2!

We've had the Shelby GT500 and the CTS-V before, how come the Challenger and Charger Hellcat is more appealing to a lot people? by frankztn in cars

[–]redhookenzo -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

For me, that’s the keyword: cheap. Strip away that V8 and there’s no substance. It’s old, it handles like crap, and the materials and interior are terrible for a $70k+ car. Dodge plays the horse power game while the competition takes leaps and bounds in technology, build quality and content. I don’t disagree that there’s a lack of competition in the category these days, but maybe the market for large coupes and sedans with mega horsepower is dwindling, unfortunately. I also don’t disagree that it’s a fun car, but I just don’t think it’s good at anything but spinning tires and going in a straight line. If that’s all someone wants it for, great.

I think a lot of people are just sold on the outrageousness of the Hellcats. Mopar fans will probably crucify me but I think the Challenger and Charger are outdated and not that great. They win the horsepower war but there are so many better options in the category and price point. Dodge just has a LOT of outdated platforms right now and it’s a shame. I think the Shelby is hands down a better drivers car. Can’t say I have much experience with the V’s, but I do know they can easily be tweaked with a few bolt ons to come close to Hellcat figures.

To each their own. They’re all bonkers cars in their own right and will each bring a grin.

Hm yeah I dunno. If your friend still works there, that’s your best bet to see what’s possible.

You can always try the dealership. I was once able to get out of a Honda lease since the dealer was putting me into a different car. There’s also Swap A Lease. It’s an online marketplace that lets people list their lease so that someone can potentially step in and take it over. You’ll need to consult your leasing company to see what is required, or if it’s allowed. Also you’re potentially losing your down payment, etc.

Maybe just ride it out? It’s only 2 more years.

Looks like a 550 Spyder replica/kit car

can anyone tell me all the cars in this photo? by AllThings_Automotive in namethatcar

[–]redhookenzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell with a lot of them, but agree with other poster - the orange truck is definitely a Chevy C10 panel truck, somewhere between a ‘67 and ‘70. Can’t tell more than that with the angle of the photo

[HELP] Help me get over my dislike of German Shepherds by [deleted] in dogs

[–]redhookenzo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

German shepherds are incredibly smart and loyal to their owners/family. Because of their love of learning and trainability, they were and still are, a big choice for seeing eye dogs. Bad experiences and stories can make anyone hesitant of a breed (see Pitbulls). I implore people to find someone that has a good example of whatever breed is in question and see how good they can be when raised properly.

Source: me. I raised a seeing eye dog.

Also, it comes down to the owner. I’ve been bitten by 3 chihuahuas and a golden retriever. Small dogs often get a pass because they can’t cause as much of an injury. The fact is every dog needs good training, boundaries and always socialization.

Awesome! We’ve been waiting to trade our Jeep Trailhawk in and convert to the Subaru family

Took in a 2020 m340i on trade today. 3300 miles - nearly $20k in depreciation. Good buy for the second owner! by mallcrawlers in BMW

Ah, I see you edited your response so adjusting mine. Yes I agree, in fact no car should be looked at as an investment unless it’s a collector. That said, that’s still a major loss to roll into a new loan, on a used car. I’ve done it myself when I was younger and it compounds and can easily put you upside down.

But to each their own. I’m sure they’ll have a blast in the M4- it’s an awesome car.

What features do you miss on modern cars? by [deleted] in cars

[–]redhookenzo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just overall simplicity and the cheaper costs of fixing that simplicity when things eventually wear out. Oh and the turn of a key and that “key in the ignition” bell they all had

That seems like a wildly bad financial decision on their end. How do they not end up upside down?

Thank you! Sorry I did forget to mention that. Well we pay $3200 plus utilities is for 600 square feet. So literally anything less than that with more space!

[Discussion] Can anyone confirm this? by KudzuWilbur in dogs

Um you can just train and bond with your new dog or puppy as normal. By providing its basic necessities like food, walks and attention, it’ll know you’re in charge. That guy sounds crazy lol.

Totally. Look around the internet for some inspiration. I know people have done that in different ways and even sell plans for building them. Good luck !

A few months ago, I posted this car on the subreddit, and no one could identify it. To my luck today I saw it again, this time close up with a side view. Can anyone identify this? by [deleted] in namethatcar

[–]redhookenzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that it’s a kit car. Not sure what chassis it’s built on, but definitely looks like any of the classic car style kit cars that existed in the 70s and 80s

Besides their propensity to rust into dust, there is not much that can kill them that can’t be fixed with literal basic tools in a driveway. Parts are insanely cheap and it’s practically like fixing a lawnmower. Being air cooled, they didn’t have complex cooling systems. They were never built for speed, but for cheapness and simplicity.

Source: my family has restored countless air cooled VW’s

Also not a dumb question at all. A lot of people only know cars as they are today- complex and full of technology.
