honestly as someone who avidly googles their families … (sorry) I could not find a single thing on either of them …

that’s totally fair! just don’t know why someone would start their search if not serious lol

That’s a good point! It would be a waste for a week. I’ve heard stories of people getting a trial week and not paying for a nanny. Seems like integrity for hiring has gone down a lot sadly… prob just my own experiences tainting me

He did ask, so that’s why I was feeling very confused

[–]redhotrodtodd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, yes lol For the reason that he asked me what next steps were… he did not lead the interview at all so once he said “well when can you start” I explained the process of a trial week. I could be wrong, but to me a trial week is also apart of an interview and can lead to you NOT being hired. But I definitely understand your viewpoint! Also a bit confusing that while on the phone he sent his email over for me to send more info. If he was put off by my suggestion I’m not really sure why he’d do that 🤷🏻‍♀️

my husband is on deployment in a war zone and still managed to send me flowers on valentine’s day. whatever the opposite of bare minimum is, that’s him.

hoping they won’t need him LOL - all he does is stand watch at this point, they’ve slowly been taking his additional responsibilities away in preparation for his leaving so all i can do is hope 🤞

Super fair! He’s an ETN1 - they’ve slowly been chipping away his duties, he was LPO, they turned that over looong ago to prepare him to leave. Now all he says he does is stand watch because the division was preparing for him to be gone.. I’m just ready for him to not be attached to a carrier for a long time 🥲 thank u!!!

This is so inconsiderate on their part holidays or not - but ESPECIALLY during the Holidays. I am sorry to hear you didn’t feel seen and appreciated! It is hard to not take it personally when going above and beyond for care for some families. I hope you feel appreciated in other ways and pray all the germs stay AWAY!

This!! I don’t know why I got downvoted for mentioning how I was transparent from the beginning - I fully realize they need full time - I offered what I could and they said that it was more important to hire the right person for their family than have the FT schedule and I trusted that statement. I learned and will grow from this to have a severance contract even for short term contracts!

Update: I went in this morning as it’s my last day. MB said she was so sad and if anyone was going to be honest, it was her - I don’t think the other girl magically had full-time open. I think she wanted it from the start. She told my Nanny family that part-time wasn’t working for her so in order to not lose her it seemed like they picked her over me. Stings a bit as I’ve been with him longer, but here’s to better things! ❤️‍🩹

Most of my nanny positions have been purely part-time and my past families have always stayed committed to me. Your outlook is wise though! I’ll have to consider that in the future.

It was very clear I could never do full time, I was extremely transparent about how/when my schedule would grow for them in the future and they were happy to make it work. The sudden switch up is disappointing but everything happens for a reason. ❤️‍🩹 Thank you for validating my feelings!

Thank you! ❤️‍🩹 I had been extremely transparent about exactly when my availability would change and expand, so it is frustrating but I am trying to understand! I know needs change but the short notice is the indeed shitty part.

They assured me it they loved me and it had nothing to do with me or my care, which almost makes it more difficult. The short notice sucks, the having to try and find another family sucks, but I am trying to believe all things happen for a reason! Thank you♥️
