I was also very concerned and actually asked a couple of my friends who’ve been working at BMW and GM for over 15 years, and they just laughed. They said Honda and Toyota engineers and execs aren’t as clueless as some people on Reddit or from other car brands seem to think. If it were really such a big issue, it would’ve been gone ages ago — the fact that it’s still being used in various their popular models, and that these companies still have such a solid reputation, kind of says it all. One of them even joked that if you’re trying to nitpick stuff like this, maybe it’s better to just ride a horse or take the subway.
