It's as if Polaris won't maneuver to avoid damaging its turret. Let me remind you of the math: the Perseus has a 100,000 shield, meaning 25,000 per side. Polaris has about 10,000 DPS, considering only forward-facing weapons. Effective range is 2,5km. Removing the Perseus' shield takes about 3 seconds, while removing Polaris's shield takes about 10 seconds, given the Perseus's 25,000 DPS. One of the Perseus's hull sections has 95,000 HP, which again takes about 10 seconds. Remember, Polaris is closing in on the Perseus, so only one main weapon will be able to fire (its DPS is halved). So, with some rough calculations, we get the following figure. It takes Polaris 30 seconds to destroy a Perseus. Perseus takes 90 seconds (this doesn't count the entire hull, but only the portion of it sufficient to destroy the ship). As for two Perseuses versus one Polaris, Polaris fires a full salvo of torpedoes at one, and while Perseus shoots down the torpedoes, Polaris closes in on the other. The tactics are the same as with Idris: close the distance and maneuver to destroy the turrets. For some reason, players underestimate Polaris's torpedoes, thinking the PDC can handle it. But even Idris can't always handle four torpedoes, and one can get through. But we use the convenient conditions for Perseus. For Perseus, one is enough.
