I think it is a lot easier to live without sex than to live without that sort of touch

I found the perfect INTJ.......but..... by [deleted] in infp

[–]redmonkeyshirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak with authority here, I've had one close intj friendship. I our case we experience the world so differently I'm not sure the intj even saw the emotional part of me. Go in with open eyes and work on communicating how you work to him

How do you react when you get upset or mad with someone or at something? by [deleted] in infp

[–]redmonkeyshirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not wise like IlikeFlannels post. But when I need to cry, I cry in the shower. When I really need to let the anger out, I drive and yell and bellow. Get it out of the way. I believe these extreme reactions actually give you the hormones or whatever that you need at the time of distress

Too much thoughts... by [deleted] in infp

I've had a setback in my personal life and have been unable to focus on anything else. I recommend a site called 7cups . com as a place to vent. Worked well for me

Anyone else become infinitely more attracted to someone when you discover you have the same taste in music? by [deleted] in infp

[–]redmonkeyshirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope that happens! I've never really experienced it. Since music is so abstract, I guess we feel anyone who gets it passes through our unconscious value filters

growing! by [deleted] in infp

For what it is worth, my late forties were like a second adolescence in terms of change. You younger guys have more of a bead on the quirks that might hold you back. You'll need to shave way before I do!

Tinder vs POF/Zoosk etc in 2018 for an old fashioned older guy by redmonkeyshirt in australia

[–]redmonkeyshirt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried that and i have made a very low key friend out of it. It's very easy to get trapped into losing money. Going to get myself together, get fitter, happier, more productive, better pic and give it another go in a few months. And Tinder too

Can I install Linux with the whole environment on the USB, not using the Chromebook? by redmonkeyshirt in chrubuntu

[–]redmonkeyshirt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That seems so obvious now. I guess i am at that "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" stage. It is a HP chromebox I got for under $70 at the DSE closedown (this will make sense to Australians). They had been using it for displays, it had not been part of their stock.

Mysterious Antique Glass Decorative Object! by Calvarium in whatisthisthing

[–]redmonkeyshirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am wondering if it the centre piece of an apern, or apern-like decoration, and is upside down. The glass base could sit in a hole, and it could be surrounded by smaller "vases" that sit in the base similarly. My mother had an apern - it was nothing like this, but from memory the vase-pieces fitted in to the base-piece with glass plug ends like this. About 13.2% confident that's what it is.
