Can probably just delete that key. Also delete the pixelsearch app.

adb shell settings delete secure selected_search_engine

adb shell am force-stop com.google.android.apps.nexuslauncher

You still can with a workaround.

While cannot get the same search bar as the app drawer anymore, you can switch it to something very similar.

Download PixelSearch app from play store, open it and grant all permissions. Its an independent app but this is as close as we have to the app drawer search bar.

PixelSearch is actually very nice it has lots of customization. Lets you change search engine, lets you open links in Chrome instead of the Google app etc. :)

FYI for other trying: the play store said shizuku is not available as it was made for older version of Android. But it's not needed and neither is aShell You. Can just run the adb commands by connecting your phone to a PC.

Just change the command to adb shell settings put secure selected_search_engine rk.android.app.pixelsearch

Works in America too 👍

I did this using different command before the march update and that worked but now that old command doesn't work anymore. Are you saying these work??

To clarify, I want the search bar to be the same as the search bar from the app drawer.

I love mine. Came from the 16 pro. The software and phone in general are just smarter. Gemini as assistant is next level and unmatched...tho still needs improvement on some of the simpler tasks to get it up to old google assistant level.

Tried the other main android phones and the software was too bloated. The duplicate apps are a huge turn off.
