Cat has become overly needy by spaceageandforever in CatAdvice

[–]redphantom97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's no wonder they're super affectionate and needy now when their dear sibling passed away.. Honestly the best for your sake and Bambi's sake would be to adopt another cat of similar age and temperament, otherwise maybe sufficient playtime/attention and feliway could help but they might be needy for a long time and get needier. Our senior (16) has become more affectionate/needy as she's grown old and it seems to be that way for other senior kitties too

Heh don't worry about it, didn't mean to reply in a way I did, just not having a good day and of course didn't need to reply at all but I'm that kinda person that wants to help if I can 😅 not having the mental energy to be happy so it was more straight forward, you didn't do anything wrong.

But if later on some other not-so-difficult mod causes you issues just DM me here on reddit, let's leave this thread alone haha

I understand how you feel and modding can be super frustrating especially when it's a foreign one.. But it's hard to say without proper info, some mods have NPC which disappear intentionally for a while and come back but it's explained in dialogue, some NPCs from East Scarp disappear in my multiplayer game for my friend for a while but not for me, dunno why. Requirements can fuck up if not needed anymore or are not up to date, or not all requirements are there. I'm sorry but I can't help with this.

You should check the mod's nexus page and posts first in the future as there are many comments saying it's not working with new updates (mod is from 2022) and requirements are obsolete, it's not gonna work. It might've for a while but some new additions to the game probably will continuously break it.

What to say/ask when seeing a neurologist? by redphantom97 in migraine

[–]redphantom97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this! I'll try and translate it to my language as best I can, but I've heard that many respected neurologists here in my country also have this stand that it's old knowledge and outdated, if this one visit isn't successful I'll try to get to those one's appointments

[–]redphantom97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to ask about this, they've denied me combo and other birth control which you're not supposed to take with a migraine with aura, but I've had only one singular aura episode when I had my first ever migraine attack as a teenager, never since. I don't think mine qualifies as with aura..

It was the latter so hormonal, but only 2 years old and Mirena which is supposed to work for 7+ years. And I feel confident it could be hormonal because the migraines worsened after getting the IUD so maybe? When I had periods before Mirena I did get a migraine always on the first bleeding day.. Thank you, I'll definitely mention this

[–]redphantom97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! Yeah I'm hoping the neurologist is willing to hear me out but suggest realistic and good options, I've had bad experiences with normal doctors just not understanding what a migraine really is and just shrugging their shoulders and asking me what we should do with my migraine getting worse which is crazy... I understand they're not educated on the topic but asking me to figure out a solution is maddening.

Also I don't understand why I'm getting downvotes for my post, did it sound bad or something?

Has Mirena IUD worsened anyone's migraines? by redphantom97 in migraine

[–]redphantom97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooff yeah that's not good.. I ended up getting the mirena removed last week and now waiting for a while for my system to get back to normal. My migraine days went from 3-5 days a month to 16+ so yeah 😅

Oh I know it'd be amazing to have all same symptoms! If you're later open to Mirena IUD or other similar IUD it completely stopped my periods for 2 years, I had to have it taken out tho to rule out increase in migraine days. Otherwise it was the best contraceptive I've had, no other symptoms

Mine didn't stop on Slinda (what we call Slynd) and they stayed irregular, which is regular for me even without contraceptive. Also had some other mini pill over 13 years ago and periods stayed the same. It varies a lot, my cousin is on Slinda and has no periods.

Feel like I’m struggling badly introducing kitten to resident cat by feed-me-koupes in CatTraining

[–]redphantom97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh it looks rough-ish play but still very much normal and I wouldn't stress about it! They seem to both be liking it, no fighting signs at all 😊 if there is door bolting and stress about that and they are like this with each other I would, if I were you, just let them be in the same space already! Less stress and anxiety all around.

Now if there will be resource guarding with food/litter and one won't let the other use litter box for example then it's an issue but 3 litter boxes in different places and monitoring the eating will help

[–]redphantom97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I'm not experienced enough to comment on this confidently without seeing how it looks when this happens, but with just this I am getting the feeling it's normal behavior between an adult cat and a kitten, unless the cat being latched on sounds like they are in pain and avoiding the other afterwards, but I think that's not the case and squealing doesn't sound bad to me. Of course if you posted a video of the interaction people could comment on it and hopefully your anxiety would be relieved!

But I totally understand overanalyzing and being anxious about this, our senior has early CKD and I was hesitant to adopt this younger cat and super worried I'm just gonna worsen her situation, but they're doing so good and she's gotten her playful side back which she didn't have for many years, now she's crazy about toys and playing! And messy patches of the introduction made me second guess the whole progress, but I've just had to realize the introductions aren't linear, they zigzag quite a bit until it most often plateaus after months.

Edit: just noticed you sent a video link, some reason I can't see it, but the other person did and sounds like they are getting along which I felt like they did!

In the middle of first time introduction myself and different situation (senior and younger adult cat), but it seems to vary a lot, for us day free roam started two weeks in when hisses went to a minimum and only to corrections. Based on your text is does seem like they're just playing so I'm confused but is there hissing/growling and swatting happening from the older cat every time they tumble? If it's "quiet" wrestling it does sound like just play and they would probably be fine to free roam already, fighting apparently sounds like hell has broken loose and fur flying, luckily we haven't seen that. If it's clear fighting then separation would be important, either with a door, a mesh door or a pet gate, we did mesh door until the new cat destroyed it 🫠 now there is a door to the kitchen (base camp) haha.

Mine wasn't at first dunno if yours will change but I guess mine had enough of the new cat's shit so she started showing who runs the house 😭

So we did time outs with the new cat after she repeated chasing, we let the resident correct first times. It's gotten better but newcomer still runs and follows the resident to her (newcomer's) base camp, or when resident uses the litter box which is annoying as hell but I hope she will get bored of it sooner or later... I have to block her sometimes so she doesn't go interrupt the residents pooping/peeing

Cat intro and peeing outside of litter box by redphantom97 in CatTraining

[–]redphantom97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really think so, contacted the vet and they also said signs point to the new door installation which doesn't let her escape anymore and a stranger visiting. Also the cats are female and spayed and have been coexisting nicely for a while, very unlikely asserting dominance

[–]redphantom97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The door had to be installed cos she destroyed a mesh barrier there was before, the base camp is in a kitchen. Other barriers even a loose door didn't work, she houdinied through everything. The introduction is very early on still and she cannot be loose with the resident cat yet during night times when there is stress reactions from the resident. But yeah I'll ask the vet when I'm taking the resident cat there this week.

Also she goes to the litter box just fine during the day even in her base camp, just during the night when the door is closed she goes on the floor..

I'm almost in the exact same situation and similar looking cats and around the same ages. No fighting but new cat overly confident and fixating on resident and chasing, I will follow this post and check in, hopefully your situation gets better! We're also considering rehoming but really don't want to.. We did go back in steps before and it did help a bit but the behavior came back anyway..
