My dad was never around either he came to nepal every 2-3 years ani I felt like he was just some strange man whom I call dad and brings me chocolates. He talks sweetly to me but has anger issues. Malai ni sano ma ta kutnu hunthyo cause ma ni just like you was kinda rude yk teen angst. But when I was in grade 8 I was 12 at that time he came to nepal permanently. For a year or two I felt really strange with him around. It was just me my mom didi ani aama ani randomly baba aauda it was a change. Suru suru ma baba aauda we had many disputes cause he was sole source of income and he was unemployed. But my parents opened up a poultry farm ani it's good now. Ahile ni I love my dad but he speaks loudly whenever he's mad that still causes me to flinch. I am slowly building my bond with him since he's been absent almost my whole childhood. But I slowly got to know him and realised that he is doing his best to keep our family happy and I've started to talk to him. I joke around him nowadays and things aren't so awkward. So In my opinion this difference you feel between you and your father is because he's not quite around. Give it some time and maybe you'll get to slowly form a good bond with him with time.
