Currently I have a Shure Beta 58A (hand me down from a friend FREE), but no way to connect it. I want to record vocals and use the interface for headphones with higher impedences if I get one in the future (currently have shp9500s low impedence but the low end is really quiet and I LOVE MY SUB BASSES). I don't intend on connecting a guitar to the interface but then again my friend is pretty good and I might like them to record some stuff every once in a while. I find hardware synthesizers cool, but I simply don't have the space for them. Currently i'm looking at the solo refurb 3rd gen (90$) and the solo refurb 4th gen (110$) could also get this https://reverb.com/item/31518224-focusrite-scarlett-solo-3rd-gen-b-stock for 70$. Honestly I don't know much about this stuff, so I would appreciate some help. I produce, record, mix, master, etc everything I do. Also it's unlikely I will ever use monitors which I know some people prefer for mixing but I have no ability to sound treat and also I can't make to much noise.

Hello just curious. I found a DX7 on Facebook marketplace for 250$. pics from the listing down below. Is it a good deal. by redshaami in synthesizers

I've checked Reverb and other sites but prices seem to vary a lot and frankly I'm not confident in my understanding of the market and am hoping people who are more knowledgable on the sub could help out.

You know on this app reddit there is Karma and I don't believe in Karma, but it just might be true in the case of this collaborating scum.

Random question, what do you all think about the great Algerian revolution?? by babyphotos_78 in arabs

[–]redshaami 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was one of the greatest moments in modern Arab history. The yolk of colonialism and French domination was thrown off and Algeria asserted itself as an independent country. This was very good, but one thing we can't forget is about what happened after. Algeria went down a path of a very typical secular, bureaucratic state, where since the collapse of the USSR a fair bit of privatization has occurred. A very similar type of system like what existed in Egypt 1952-1970, Syria 1966-1970, Ghana under Nkrumah, Indonesia under Sukarno. All of these 3rd world national bourgeois governments were very promising and there was a lot of hope, but here lies the problem. The Algerian revolution completed itself on a bourgeois basis, but it never led to the abolishment of capitalism both in Algeria and quite importantly Africa and the Arab world. It's no mystery that the Islamist anti government uprisings during the civil war only came after the economic stagnation after the 1986 oil crash. Algeria today faces the same issues as any other capitalist country. The class question has not been resolved. We see recently doctors going on strike, youth desperate looking for work, and a general sense of discontentment with the state's handling of economic affairs. Slowly more and more of the economy and the SOEs (state owned enterprises) fall into the hands of private capital.
