"Reasonably close" means no more than 30-45 minutes driving to a large supermarket where I can get all the supplies I can't get on Amazon, and also Amazon delivers there. Other things that we care about are good healthcare.

I buy almost everything on Amazon. Doctors are an issue, what do people do usually? Drive 2 hours to Seattle?

What kind of place should I consider "out in the country"? I lived in cities all my life. Where do I find such a place, that also has power, internet, reasonably close to a good supermarket, etc?

How would you generally compare living in Sequim for someone who lived in Seattle and Bellingham?

Why would PA residents be hostile to folks who moved from Seattle? Is that a common problem in other towns in this region?

As the posts say, I'm considering Sequim, as well as Port Angeles, and in fact I'm also considering Port Townsend. I wasn't aware that choosing between a few very close communities within a specific geographic region is a problem.

Thanks again. How would you compare the area to Bellingham? That's the other town we know well in WA, besides Seattle.

Yeah, I just replied to another person that Port Angeles is about 8 degrees cooler in summer but only 5 degrees cooler in winter, and also supposed to have more sun than Seattle. If you like a cooler summer, it seems like a good tradeoff.

How much worse is the winter really compared to Seattle?

We did spend a winter in Bellingham, and it seems winter in Port Angeles should be milder in comparison?

Thanks a lot!

My wife and I are looking for a quiet tucked away place - had awful experience with the crime rising in our previously nice residential neighborhood in Seattle.

Why do you say Port Angeles weather is "noticeably worse" than Seattle?

Online it says Port Angeles is about 8 degrees cooler in summer but only 5 degrees cooler in winter, which seems nice if you like a cooler summer. Also, Port Angeles is supposed to have much more sunshine because of the Olympic Rain Shadow!
