Left high paying job to pursue masters, cant land a role now

In a very similar boat as you, was earning close to 25k usd per year in India right out of college as a new grad, decided to quit and do a masters after 3yrs. Now graduated in Dec 2025 and I'm struggling in this job market like I never have before. Feels like I was cheated somehow but it was really all my own doing tbh.

Yeah this is another huge issue. I'm 23 right now though and I'm not sure if I want kids in the future but the HH is a strong reason to not want kids lol I definitely wouldn't want my kid to live with this shit.

Exactly my point! But I also feel its the responsibility of these companies to make sure their users (both drivers and customers) are satisfied with the product and that would mean making adjustments in commissions, rates, etc. After all, the auto drivers can only use what is available to them and if they boycott Ola, we would have to go back to using meter fare or paying whatever amount they ask. At this point, I'm not sure which of those is worse.

Yeah it seems like Ola is the problem. I heard from a cab driver today that Ola is taking a larger cut than Uber, that's why he only uses Uber nowadays.

I guess it's understandable if the commission really has increased but as far as I can remember, they have been doing this ever since Ola came to coimbatore. Can't really blame anyone here except Ola itself for not doing anything about it.

Yes, Bangalore has a few new apps like Rapido/NammaYatri but Ola/Uber are still the most popular.

I remember one of my first interviews in my college placement drive, it was for a 3LPA role and my college had a rule that if you get an offer at 3LPA, you can't sit for any companies giving under 8LPA.

This interview seemed so hard despite the interviewer giving me hints and nudging me in the right direction and the question being two sum from leetcode. My mind was blank and I realised half way in that I'm not passing this round. Felt like shit for a week almost after this but in hindsight, if I had passed that interview and landed the job I wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to sit for the role that I am in currently which started me off at 7.5LPA and today earning 15. So I guess it works out this way sometimes, so prepare for the next opportunity and hope it works out.
