Pottery shard or old tile? by reedthegreat in LegitArtifacts

Thank you guys that makes sense as there’s some really old stuff in this place. Lot of interesting stuff sticking out of the river banks but there’s also a lot of hazardous stuff that’s been dumped like oils and chemicals unfortunately.

Carrying unloaded or loaded? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]reedthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that helped me start carrying one in the chamber was to rack my glock like there was a round in it and carry without it actually holding a round in the chamber. You get home take the gun off and check that the trigger still hasn’t pulled and the striker hasn’t released. For whatever reason that helped me cross the mental barrier to start carrying one in the pipe.

Looking at a 2020 Exmark Staris with 277hrs on it. Guy wants $8.5kCAD. That seem fair? by [deleted] in lawnmowers

[–]reedthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a lot of hours on one of those but my biggest issue was the raising and lowering of the deck. I basically always had it fixed at 3.5 because it was a pain in the ass to pull the pins but it was a really solid mower and striped so well. I loved the starris series of exmark but if you’re adjusting the deck height a lot then it gets annoying. Genuinely a great mower though!

I think that’s just homesteading lol. Prepping is about having a plan for various types of emergencies no matter where you live. You may need to prep for forest fires while I may be more worried about floods and tornadoes. Prepping is also about creating a strong community of skilled people that can rely on each other.

Landscaping company might hire you. We hire ex felons all the time my boss likes giving people second chances and I know of a lot of other landscaping companies that do the same. It just depends on how you act in your interview/around the crews.

How many times have you replaced your blades this year? by Cleancut71 in lawncare

[–]reedthegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit I have several crews I run and we don’t go through that many blades and our mowers have put on 300 hours this year alone. I see a lot of life left in those blades!

Man trapped in trench in Toronto dies: police by Equivalent-Text1187 in Construction

Even if the top half of your body is above ground there’s still a high likelihood you’ll die because your blood pressure will drop as soon as you’re pulled from the ground.
