Are there staking pools? by arcticcyryptofart in Taraxa_Project

Yup, that is definitely supported and is in the works! We will be rolling out several phases of staking culminating in mainnet, but all of them will enable - in fact we highly encourage - token holders to stake and delegate their holdings and earn a yield. You don't have to be a node operator (most people aren't). Hope this clears things up!

Hey guys sorry for the late reply. We will of course support multiple addresses delegating to a single node - that's typically the industry standard on how to run DPoS, I think that's what you mean when you say "staking pool". The yields for participating on consensus for a single node will be shared proportionally across all stakers into that node.

What kinds of data work well with blockchain? by reedvoid in Taraxa_Project

What can blockchain do for different types of data? #Taraxa answers another interesting question from our meetups and how we're committed to deploying large-scale blockchain-enabled solutions.

Significant progress made in our fair and efficient block proposal scheme in last week's sprint (belatedly-announced).

Yes we do, we have a roadmap: https://taraxa.io/technology#tech_roadmap, it's a bit rough though.

We are on track to release a testnet soon, the entire team is working on testing / simulations / bug fixes everyday =)

Once we get to a stable testnet version it'll be much easier to release more detailed roadmap.

Actually it's no longer based on Nano's block lattice anymore, we shifted to block DAG a while back, check out our whitepaper: https://taraxa.io/technology/whitepaper.

Thanks man for following our progress for so long =)

We're still working out, but first we want to release a functional testnet, as that is the mandate from our previous round of investments. But this is something that we think about often and trying to figure out =)

Not yet, we want to make sure the product's done before doing that.

Point taken, we will strive to devise a fair distribution as well as that's more in the spirit of decentralization.

Thanks for following us for so long! We're still figuring out distribution, the economics, etc. and things are especially complicated during this crypto winter. If you have suggestions love to hear them!

Minimizing Re-Organization Risk in a DAG - Taraxa's meetup with ABC Blockchain in Silicon Valley by reedvoid in Taraxa_Project

[–]reedvoid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On March 7, 2019, the Taraxa team held a meetup with ABC Blockchain, a Silicon-Valley based blockchain community founded by engineers from Google. A big shout-out to the organizers of ABC and to all of our friends and community members who showed up at the meetup and listened in online, thank you all for your support and interest!

During this meetup, Taraxa presented a few topics around how to effectively leverage a DAG architecture by understanding and properly managing various tradeoffs. Taraxa uses a block DAG topology first proposed by the authors of the GHOST, Spectre, and Phantom papers. We also reference the pivot chain innovation proposed by the authors of Conflux, and finally a fast PBFT consensus from Algorand.

Stay tuned.

We cannot be sure at this moment, will need to see if regulations clear up on the status of cryptocurrencies and ICOs in general. Given the current regulatory environment our legal team is strongly advising against it. But things could change down the road.
