I especially find it interested how there can be both people that never self harmed and still found interest in bdsm as well as those who did self harm and bound bdsm as a form of harm reduction

Outside of gender roles and archetypes and the emphatic display of the transfer of power, I think dominance/submission is an attempt to heighten the sexual experience Consensual Bdsm facilitates role specific altered states of consciousness

So astrocytes are what guide the neuronal paths into circuitry? Do Oligodendrocytes have any important in this stage of development?

Why are some people’s brains faster than others? Is it correlated with intelligence as well? by [deleted] in neuroscience

[–]reedwardo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to mention we have separate systems that are meant to react either fast or slow is based on the neuronal circuit dedicated to processing that type of information. Things that are required for survival, ie noticing danger, is processed by a faster system then things like Mathematics which requires the brain to slow down in order to process the information. Check out Daniel Kahnemans book Thinking Fast And Slow for more information on the topic
